How are you going to combat AIDS in the next generation?

In accordance with Foundation business strategy, the Human Resources Intern provides specialized HR professional help in the day-to-day management and administration of the Human Resource function under the direction of the Senior Human Resources and Administration Manager.

At EGPAF, no two days are the same, so what can you anticipate from this position?

Procedure & Policy:

  • Co-ordinate with your supervisor to administer HR policies and procedures in a way that complies with labor laws, staff contracts, employee handbooks, and field operating manuals.

Writing reports:

  • Analyze several HR indexes and compile monthly trends.
  • Monthly reports emphasizing the status of performance reviews, engagement action plans, and other HR initiatives should be provided.
  • Updating the database for human resources.

 

Headcount management and business partnerships:

  • Continue to gather input from field offices and make sure that it is taken into consideration to improve operational efficacy.
  • To ensure that all roles have accurate and current job descriptions, follow up with the supervisors.
  • Track down payments that were sent to finance.
  • Assistance with administrative tasks including memo writing and approval procedures.
  • In charge of writing reports on security and safety.
  • An alternate focal point.

Helping with Onboarding & Recruitment:

  • Administrative support for hiring, such as scheduling interviews, running background checks, and contacting references for position seekers.
  • Make sure that all positions have current, accurate job descriptions available.
  • Efficient completion of the relevant paperwork for each employee guarantees that the necessary employee documentation is acquired, appropriately filed, and updated as needed.
  • Guarantees accurate and current employment records and private handling of staff data.
  • Keep tabs on and observe probationary terms.
  • Keeping personnel and other HR files up to date.

Learning and Development and Performance Management:

  • Every year, make sure supervisors and their employees carry out the planned performance reviews in a timely way and that all reviews are accurately recorded on the performance management system.
  • Give employees administrative support for online learning platforms, trainings, and tuition assistance.
  • Plan and keep track of performance improvement initiatives.

 

Management of Exit:

  • Assist in worker separation in accordance with internal policies and exit management protocols.
  • Plan the farewell interview, office equipment return, and terminal perks.
  • Makes certain that all necessary arrangements are made for the departure of employees, such as meeting all obligations related to handover and paying terminal fees.

Pay and perks (Benefits and Compensation):

  • Assist HR in managing the contract renewal and merit process.
  • Supporting the management of employee benefits by following up on numerous requests made by employees with Vodacom, health insurance, life insurance, and other vendors.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as delegated by the Senior Human Resources Manager.

In order to succeed, you’ll need:

  • A degree in public administration, business administration, sociology, or human resources management from an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and how they are applied.
  • A university degree or at least one to two years of experience working in the administration, finance, and human resources departments.
  • fundamental proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Extra credit for having:

  • Writing reports and giving presentations.
  • Running HR-related systems is an added benefit.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Meticulous and with strong organizing abilities.
  • Capacity to manage sensitive material and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in HR or administration from the past is advantageous.
  • English language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.

In Tanzania, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) started funding HIV and AIDS initiatives in 2003 and opened a national office the following year. Since then, the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government, the Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, and the EGPAF have worked closely together to expand the program’s reach to include high-quality, comprehensive, and integrated HIV, GBV, TB, and family planning services in the regions it supports. The U.S. Agency for International Development was recently awarded to EGPAF in partnership with consortium partners Amref Health Tanzania, Engender Health, D-tree International, and Matchboxology.

Tanzania/USAID In order to close service delivery gaps in HIV, TB, and family planning (FP), Afya Yangu Northern is built on client-centered approaches. Additionally, local stakeholders’ capacity is continuously being built and transferred to ensure sustainable and national leadership. In the early project years, USAID Afya Yangu Northern will place a strong emphasis on direct service delivery throughout all regions, making sure that gaps in epidemic control are found and that specialized solutions are created to address the needs of vulnerable people.
