Job Title: Instrumentation Technician

The Job Summary:
The Dangote Cement is looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join their team. You will be responsible for normal maintenance, repairs, installations, calibrations, adjustments, and integration of various types of plant instrumentation equipment.
The Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out all work order maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of plant equipment as directed.
- To troubleshoot, inspect, test, maintain, repair, clean, and calibrate instruments and solid-state and microprocessor-based control systems.
- To repair or repair control devices as needed, including switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, transmitters, and so on.
- To install control and measurement instruments on old or new plant equipment.
- To troubleshoot, repair, and perform minor programming on various PLC control systems, frequency drives, and other electrical equipment.
- To participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs, and follow safety guidelines.
- Carry out/ perform any other duties as directed by the Section Head/Engineers.
The Education and Work Experience:
Trade Test II plus 16 years of related work experience, or
Trade Test I plus 8 years of related work experience or
OND plus 5 years of comparable job experience.
The Skills & Competence:
- The excellent knowledge of phase testers, multimeters, meggers, and other testing tools.
- The ability to read and understand papers and drawings.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and teamwork abilities.
- A proficiency with office productivity tools.
