Job Title: Insurance Officer

Work location: Dar es Salaam

The Key Responsibilities:

The Insurance Officer will be in charge of the following roles.

  • Receive and process insurance applications.
  • To ensure that the policy requirements are met, including the completion of the necessary forms.
  • To assist consumers in properly completing insurance applications to serve as an insurance middleman between the company and an insurance carrier.
  • Keep track of insurance claims.
  • Inspect the property and take pictures to assess its general condition and insurance risk.
  • Attend various trainings as directed by insurance companies, TIRA, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Advise and instruct customers on the insurance products that will meet their needs.
  • To follow up on matured insurance policies in order to renew them.
  • To sell and cross-sell ELM Enterprises products.
  • A solicit new business through direct marketing; schedule appointments with potential clients; and follow up on referrals from existing clients.
  • To prepare and presenting proposals to prospective clients to market ELM Enterprises’ products.
  • Conducting market research to acquire a better understanding of industry trends, consumer requirements, and new entrants (potential opportunities).
  • To meet the performance targets for insurance portfolio growth and profitability.
  • Prepare the required daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and submit them to your direct supervisor.
  • Any additional duties will be allocated by the supervisor.

 

THE DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a diploma in business studies.
  • Insurance requires a minimum level of qualification.
  • A computer literate.
  • The experience in sales will be advantageous.
