Job Title: Intern – Program Officer
Job Contract: One-year fixed term from May 2025 to April 2026, with the possibility of an extension based on performance and fund availability.
Work location: Mwanza, Tanzania.
Answers to/ Reports to the World Renew Programs Coordinator (PC).

The World Renew, a relief and development organization of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA), is registered in Tanzania as an international non-governmental organization (NGO).
Organizational Profile:
The World Renew Tanzania Office is a relief and development organization of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA). It is registered in Tanzania as an International NGO under the Non-Governmental Organizational Act, 2002, made under Sections 11(1) and 17(2) of Act No. 24 of 2002, with the Registration Number I-NGO/R2/000640. The World Renew Tanzania Office is working with local implementing partners and government district councils in Geita, Shinyanga, Tabora, Mara, and Mwanza to implement a variety of community development and disaster response programs aimed at improving food security, conservation agriculture, disaster risk reduction, environmental protection, youth empowerment, livelihoods and income generation, health, and literacy.
The Purpose of the Position:
This job will be situated in Mwanza and will collaborate closely with the Programs Coordinator (PC), the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, and program teams. The position will play a significant role in implementing World Renew’s community development and disaster response initiatives in conjunction with ISUPDO country, planning, and implementation. She/he will help design, implement, and monitor project progress, as well as prepare project reports and coordinate meetings with project partners. Renew development programs in partnership with the project team and implementing partners to efficiently achieve primary project objectives.

- Be able and willing to work in a team environment; capable of developing team skills in others, being proactive, and working with minimal supervision as needed.
- A competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary, and knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks is beneficial.
- An administrative experience, as well as strong oral and written communication abilities, are necessary.
Education:
- A degree in Community Economic Development, Project Planning and Management, Business Administration, Cooperative Management, or another Rural Development certification. A minimum of three years of community development experience in one or more of the following areas is required: microfinance, agricultural economics, cooperative management, community development, literacy, and community health.
Language Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili skills.
Physical demands:
Travel up to 10-15% of the time to remote project areas in Tanzania, primarily Geita, Mara, Shinyanga, Tabora, Kagera, and Kigoma. Travel and accomodation in remote rural places with little access to basic facilities like running water and electricity.
