Concern Us/ About Us:

The Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development, often known as the UONGOZI Institute, is a regional leadership development hub overseen by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania. The Institute, founded in 2010 by the governments of Tanzania and Finland, aims to inspire and train African leaders to achieve inclusive and sustainable solutions for their countries and the continent as a whole. Its two strategic pillars, leadership and sustainable development, are handled in four major areas: executive education, policy dialogues, action-oriented research, and technical support.

The Institute is now looking for interns in Finance, Executive Education, and Communications. The successful candidates will assist the Department(s)/Unit(s) in achieving their goals. Every position is headquartered in Dar es Salaam.

 

The Position Summary:

Job Title: Finance – Intern (1 Position)

The Finance Intern contributes to the implementation of finance and accounting functions. The intern works under the Corporate Services Department and reports directly to the Senior Accountant.

 

 

Job Title: Training – Intern (2 Positions)

The Training Intern helps to coordinate, organize, and deliver executive education programs to leaders in Tanzania and throughout Africa. The Intern works under the Executive Education Department and reports directly to the Senior Programme Delivery Officer.

 

 

 

Job Title: Communications – Intern (1 Position)

The Communications Intern contributes to campaigns and initiatives that improve and preserve the Institute’s positive image while also increasing its exposure and reach. The intern works under the Public Relations and Communications Unit and reports directly to the Communications Officer.

 

 

The Duration and Work Schedule.

The selected interns will be hired for up to one year, depending on their performance and the Institute’s needs. Some assignments will require traveling.

 

 

The general needs (requirements):

  • A bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of study.
  • A proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and online search tools.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in both English and Swahili.
  • The volunteering experience is appreciated, but not essential.
