The Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) is a referral, consultant, and university teaching hospital serving the United Republic of Tanzania’s Lake and Western regions. It is located on the shores of Lake Victoria near Mwanza City. It contains more than 950 beds and employs around 1300 people. It provides referral tertiary specialist care to eight regions and covers a catchment population of more than 14 million people. It’s an exciting time to join our team because we’ll be opening a new radiation center in the hospital’s cutting-edge oncology wing, complete with a Co-60 machine and conventional simulator, to serve as a regional cancer treatment hub.
It is the country’s second-established centre. Mwanza is Tanzania’s second-largest city and the lake region’s commercial hub. Mwanza is located on Lake Victoria’s shore and surrounded by hills. In addition to being a stop on the way to Rubondo Island National Park, Mwanza is an excellent beginning or stopping point for safaris to Ngorongoro, Serengeti, and Mount Kilimanjaro.
