Tanzania Vacancies began operations in Tanzania in April 1994, in response to the Rwandan crisis and the resulting inflow of refugees into the Kagera Region of northwestern Tanzania. Over the years, CARE Tanzania implemented innovative education, health, microfinance, and environmental projects throughout the country. In Tanzania, CARE collaborates with the government, both on the mainland and on Zanzibar, and other stakeholders to transform communities and achieve financial inclusion and independence, health and nutrition, and climate-smart development resilience, particularly for women and girls.
