The Precision Air Tanzania Vacancy was created in 1993. It began as a private charter air transport company, operating a five-seat Piper Aztec aircraft. Its first line of business consisted mostly of connecting tourists visiting the great natural attractions of Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania, Zanzibar Island in the Indian Ocean, and other parts of the country from Arusha as a base. Precision Air Vacancies’ headquarters are currently located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s commercial capital.
The airline’s core services are regular flights, chartered flights, and cargo air services, which are expanding at a rapid pace. The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) gave the company a self-handling license in May 2009, and ground handling activities began in early November. The airline is looking for a third-party ground handling license from TCAA. The vastness of Tanzania, along with an increasing demand for air transport services as the country transitioned to a free market economy, prompted Precision Air to begin flying scheduled flights from Arusha.
