We’re A political and economic alliance of 27 European nations is known as the European Union (EU). Through trade, diplomacy, development assistance, and collaboration with international organizations, it plays a significant influence in international affairs. More than 140 diplomatic representations—also referred to as EU Delegations—that serve comparable purposes to embassy representations serve as the EU’s overseas presence.
One of the main players in the relationships between the European Union and Tanzania as well as the East African Community is the EU Delegation to Tanzania. Its function is to closely coordinate with the heads of missions of EU member states to:
- Abide by the principles and goals of the EU.
- Encourage responsible democracy, sound government, and fundamental rights.
- In order to improve everyone’s quality of life, support Tanzania’s development strategy and sustainable development goals. Encourage the private sector, inclusive growth, and employment creation.
- Encourage the growth of trade, economic integration, and peace and stability in the region.

The chosen applicant will be hired and assigned to the role of Secretary to the Head of Cooperation and the Economic Section. The duties of the position may be modified to meet the demands of the delegation.
This job is a full-time position. The position falls under compensation Group 3, with a monthly gross compensation minimum of 3,151,309 TZS.
We provide additional benefits in accordance with EU HR guidelines that apply to employees hired locally. The winning candidate’s professional experience will be taken into consideration when determining the final compensation. We provide a competitive advantage in a global setting. Currently, the following primary responsibilities and tasks are needed:
- Assist in sustaining cordial and productive working relationships with all government representatives, EU member state diplomatic missions, development partners, and project stakeholders.
- Assist in providing general project management information or support upon request. Contribute to the portfolio management of the section’s contracts or programs.
- Help with the filing, maintaining, and, if necessary, destroying of unclassified hard copy or soft copy material.
- Help the EU Delegation represent itself in locally arranged events.
- Provide support to other Secretaries within the Delegation.
- Help with any additional tasks that are required and thought to be essential to the Delegation’s operation.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Relevant Training
Professional Experience Atleast 6 months experience in related field Secretarial/ Archieving experience
Knowledge of languages Fluent in English and Swahili Language will be an advantage
Knowledge of IT Tools Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) PowerPoint and other Softwares
