In Africa, The School of St Jude is a trailblazing innovator in the field of philanthropic education. Each year, we provide 1,800 kids with a free, high-quality education, hundreds of graduates with access to postsecondary education, and excellent teachers for over 20,000 children in government schools. Generous donors from all around the world enable St Jude’s to fulfill its purpose of providing brilliant, underprivileged Tanzanian kids with a free, high-quality education.
Who are you?
- A very driven educator who has outstanding attention to detail, enjoys working with children, and is capable of facilitating a curriculum that emphasizes holistic learning.
- It is possible for you to create, oversee, and assess lesson plans, work plans, lesson notes, and exams.
- You may encourage and guide pupils to participate in extracurricular activities because you recognize their value.
- A conscientious and diligent individual who takes pleasure in taking on extra responsibilities including being on duty, chairing assemblies, supervising projects, and serving on numerous school committees.
- You push students to set high goals and succeed by upholding the highest standards of morality and scholarship.
What we are looking for?
- A Tanzanian with a stellar academic record who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education or Bachelor of Arts with Education (Geography) from an accredited university in East Africa.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience teaching at the advanced or ordinary level, with exceptional performance from schools that rank highly.
- Competent to instruct general studies and geography at the form six level.
- Strong ability to use contemporary teaching techniques and tactics that promote a competency-based approach to learning and testing to present NECTA program content.
- Outstanding communication abilities, both written and oral, in the English language of teaching.
- A well-rounded, self-reliant, and mature person with a wide range of educational knowledge who upholds teaching ethics and uses a novel approach to the classroom.
- A teacher who exudes enthusiasm, diligence, and motivation for our pupils.
- Someone who can adjust to the many policies and procedures of our school, including working on the weekends when necessary.
- Applications from qualified women are highly welcomed.
