Concerning the Role:

In order to provide an efficient and successful grant management function within the BRAC International Country offices, the Senior Manager, Grant Management is accountable for actively advocating the use of global grant management procedures and taking part in their development. There are four primary components to the role:

  1. Assist in developing and implementing grant management policies and procedures inside BI Country offices by providing support to the Grant Management Lead, Country office operations.
  2. The grant management team of the Capacity Build Country office.
  3. Assist BI country offices’ essential grant core procedures.
  4. At order to improve donor reporting abilities at the BI Country office, assist the Specialist Donor Reporting in their follow-up with the teams in the country offices.

 

This role will collaborate closely with the focal points and managers of the Country Office Grants to guarantee that grant management procedures and services are offered during the whole award cycle. The post holder will be expected to work beyond the typical role profile and be prepared to adjust working hours in the case of a serious humanitarian disaster. Over 50% of the BI Countries are expected to see high travel.

Primary Accountabilities:

Oversight of Grant Management and Quality Control.

  • Assist with GRP Global Grants administration Take the lead in updating the global grants management handbook by offering your opinions, insights, and viewpoints on how the handbook is being used and interpreted in the national offices.
  • By providing purposeful and organized assistance to Country offices in establishing and maintaining an efficient and successful grants management process, the Grant Management Manual core processes will be embedded inside and throughout the BI Country offices.
  • Assistance in integrating the essential Sub-grant management procedures throughout the BI Country offices.
  • Assist the GRP Global Grants Management Lead in maintaining an accurate evaluation of CO performance in grant management by supporting the consolidation of quarterly KPI production, continuing troubleshooting, and frequent visits to country offices.
  • Maintain systematic oversight of CO outreach, grant spending, portfolio spending, and grants in order to identify problems and take corrective action.
  • Accountable for ensuring system integrity and supporting GMS use.

 

Coordination.

  • Reinforce the Donor Reporting Process Flow for the best possible structure for timely and high-quality donor reporting by working with Country Offices in coordination and cooperation with the Global Donor Reporting Officer.
  • Encourage the use of GMS for compliance, internal controls, and documentation preservation by interacting with Country Offices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to guarantee that grant management is integrated into important procedures such as timekeeping, creating master budgets, allocating costs, keeping an eye on grant budgets, and conducting budget reviews.
  • Engage in the check-in calls with the managers of the country grants.
  • Takes part in internal trainings, community practice calls, and learning opportunities for Global Grant Management.
  • Make sure that important organizational priorities—such as gender and inclusion and safeguarding—are taken into account during the grant management processes.

 

Compliance.

  • Encourages compliance with BRAC Grant Management guidelines and rules.
  • Encourages following BRAC Sub-Grant Management guidelines and rules.
  • Through continuous communication of compliance aspects and training, supports adherence to complex donor compliance standards across Country Offices and downstream partners.
  • Throughout the grant cycle, make sure you have a thorough understanding of the donor compliance criteria and that the country offices have received and comprehended the information. This could consist of:

– Evaluation of requests for donations and assistance with GRP decision gates.
– Evaluation of budgets and high-value bids.
– Evaluation of the donor agreements.

 

Capacity Building.

  • Aid in International Grants Management Develop the ability of BI Country Office Grant Management staff on a regular and continuing basis by providing on-the-job training support to designated Grants managers and Grants focal persons. This will help the organization create a high-performing grant management team.
  • Serving as a resource for troubleshooting procedural questions and problems related to grants management.
  • Facilitating the transfer of grant administration expertise between nations and locations in order to foster opportunity and education.
  • It is your responsibility to cover transitional and gap-filled Grants Management positions for national offices, either temporarily or permanently.
  • Mentor important CO colleagues in grant administration, especially in regard to donor reporting and compliance.

  • To fulfill the objectives of the program regarding the installation of safeguards, make sure that team members are secure from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a vital resource for advice, assistance, and knowledge on safety measures for creating a secure work environment.

Qualifications in Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as International Development or Finance.

 

Essential Skills/ Required Competencies:

  • Familiarity with non-governmental organizations.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of large institutional donors, such as those pertaining to reporting, eligibility, budgeting, and compliance management; familiarity with strategic donor engagement (UN Agencies, USAID, GAC, DFAT, DFID, MasterCard Foundation, FCDO, etc.).
  • A track record of actively supporting the direction of the country’s senior management team and offering strategic support across a variety of industries and/or geographies.
  • Proven abilities in capacity building and coaching.
  • Proficiency in the financial facets of grant administration and the capacity to collaborate with the finance department on grant management matters.
  • Strong capacity to solve problems, pay close attention to details, and recognize trends.
  • Knowledgeable about computers, including the Google Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and PowerPoint.
  • Patient, flexible, able to improvise, and capable of efficient and clear communication under duress.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing in the English language.
  • Experience working in nations experiencing difficulties.
  • It is desirable to have knowledge of BRAC’s history, programs, and culture.

 

Experience Level Requirements:

  • 7+ years in a relevant field, such as development.
  • Knowledge of managing grants and subgrants.
  • Familiarity with grant management techniques and technologies that are universally accepted.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance rules and processes, such as those of DFAT, FCDO, ECHO, GAC, DEVCO, USAID, and UN agencies
