Primary Purpose:
The main duty of this role is to operate and maintain CWS vehicles in order to carry out designated tasks on behalf of the company.

Office Work Environment:
Frequent travels to field areas (Refugee camps and other programs and projects areas.
Responsibilities:
Administration (45%)
- Drive CWS vehicles, personnel, representatives, and guests for official business as directed by the supervisor. Observe official traffic regulations and CWS traffic procedure to the letter.
- Keep up with security bulletins and utilize navigation tools to determine the optimal route based on traffic and road conditions. Make sure the car has more fuel than half of the tank.
- Help with general administrative duties as delegated by the manager, Prepare materials for field team trips, gather mail, and ship it out.
- Maintain precise CWS delivery and dispatch book records for all deliveries to different offices.
- Help with obtaining and monitoring documentation, invoices, and receipts from vendors and partners. Assist with processing payments for any legally required licenses, bills, and utilities.
- Unless otherwise authorized by the supervisor, make sure the CWS vehicle is secure during any official operations assigned. This includes returning to the office compound by 6:00 p.m.
- Assist in the processing of work permits and camp admission for foreign employees who assist CRs, as well as the transportation and other supplies that the camp needs to run.
- Help procure quotes and execute small-scale purchases on behalf of the office, following the supervisor’s or procurement staff’s directions.
Technical Maintenance (30%)
- Keeping the car in good mechanical and physical condition by: Performing daily examinations and inspections;
- If applicable, the levels of the following fluids: coolant, radiator water, power steering, brake fluid, clutch fluid, engine oil, and auto transmission fluids.
- Check that the electrical system and lights—including the turn signals, brake and taillights, indicators, and battery terminals—are operating properly.
- Check the tread, tire pressure, and brake and wheel pads.
- Rotate the tires every 10,000 kilometers to guarantee even wear. Make sure the windshield washers (which include washer water and windshield/shield wipers) are working.
- Make a note of any warning indicators, such as lights on the dashboard or strange noises or vibrations.
- promptly notifying the supervisor of any errors or damage.
- observing the owner’s manual’s recommended maintenance plan and informing the supervisor when regular services are necessary.
- Verifying that the car has all the necessary tools, including the first aid kit, toolbox, jerk and handle, wheel spanner, spare tire, torch, etc., and that they are all in good operating order.
- Regularly washing, cleaning, and vacuuming the interior of the car will help to keep it looking excellent by preventing rust and corrosion.
Vehicles documentation (20%)
- To ensure that the vehicle’s documentation and records are up to date, make sure that every user signs a logbook or document detailing the details of each journey.
- Safeguarding the vehicle’s papers and maintaining a logbook with the vehicle’s records:
- Records and paperwork related to maintenance services, etc. (Job cards and delivery notes)
- Documentation and records related to refueling (Forms and receipts for refueling requests)
- Notifying the supervisor in a timely manner when statutory certifications, like insurance coverage or policies, expire.
- Certificate of Inspection.
- LATRA authorization.
- Certificate for the speed governor and any other.
Additional Responsibilities (5%)
- Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor in order to enhance the CWS office’s operations.
Experience:
Qualifications:-
- Five (5) years of required driving-related employment experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of non-governmental organization work experience.
Skills:
- Practical understanding of fundamental automotive maintenance.
- Good familiarity of the roads in the Kigoma and Kasulu areas.
- Keeping composure when driving under pressure.
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Shown aptitude for time management and organization.
- Strong proficiency with computers, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook/Email.
- Acquaintance with GPS equipment.
Education and Certifications:
- A valid driver’s license class “C1” or higher is necessary.
- A secondary school certificate at the ordinary level is necessary.
- It is necessary to complete driving courses from NIT, either the Advanced Driver’s Grade One or Grade Two (VIP) programs.
- An additional benefit will be a motor vehicle mechanic course from any accredited university.

- This job needs laptop use, and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs is necessary.
- Due to the needs of a dynamic operational program, this role may entail short-notice, sometimes arduous, travel throughout sub-Saharan Africa.
- A class “E” driver’s license or higher is necessary.
- Prior to employment, a background check involving references, school records, and criminal histories is necessary.
- It is necessary to have a valid passport and to be able to keep it that way for the duration of the appointment; this includes having enough pages for travel.
- Physical: This position necessitates reaching above shoulder level, using fine finger movements, lifting/carrying large items, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, and handling goods (manual dexterity).
- Environmental: This job will expose its occupants to loud noises, abrupt variations in temperature and/or humidity, dust and contagious illnesses, severe weather conditions, lengthy workdays, choppy roads, prolonged travel, intense sun exposure, and poorly ventilated areas.

- Part-time/full-time: Every employee needs to be ready to work from the CWS office at the place where they were hired. Depending on the area and the governmental regulations pertaining to the pandemic, remote work arrangements may differ.
