Summary of Work:

In charge of assisting a demanding portfolio of commercial and small business clients with the creation, delivery, and administration of cash and trade management products. The post holder will be specifically responsible for ensuring the Transactional Banking Unit’s overall growth. This entails putting acquisition, retention, and growth plans into action for every category.

 

 

Job Description:

Responsibility: 30% for Sales and Services.

  • Upkeep of “priority” clients’ client relationships.
  • To advise and assist the trade and cash management teams in locating and concluding client transactions throughout the portfolio.
  • Tracking deal pipelines and sales targets to make sure goals are met.
  • To spearhead projects that need help from trade management and cash, like off-balance sheet assets and liability drives.
  • Assist clients with their transactional needs by offering frameworks and solutions for cash and trade finance, including structured trade commodity financing.
  • Assist clients with their financial securities custody needs by offering structures and solutions.
  • Promote the sale of fresh trade and cash management products.
  • Help the SME and Commercial sales teams create relationship plans for their clientele.
  • Establish the ideal trade finance product structure, taking into account the seamless flow of information between front and back office operations.
  • Strive for the best deal in order to optimize your possible revenue from cash and trade finance transactions. Always make sure to weigh the expense of the solution or product against the big picture when setting costs for clients.
  • In order to provide smooth after-sale support for Trade Finance transactions, communicate with business bankers and the Foreign Trade Service.
  • Accounting for portfolio clients, including reconciliation and remedial action duties; benchmarking concluded pipeline deals and transactions against NBC trade reporting to guarantee no income leakage.
  • Organize the complete collection and analysis of client data on the performance of Cash and Trade Finance on a monthly basis by working with the customer and relationship manager. Notify client accounts with decreased volumes and start corrective action using the recommended action steps.
  • Start structured and commodity trade finance transactions, and collaborate closely with a group structure team to guarantee the deals conclude on time.

Responsibility: – Business Management 30%.

  • In charge of motivating the cash and trade management group to meet revenue and balance sheet goals.
  • Make sure performance metrics satisfy consumer expectations.
  • Track and increase revenue from all cash and trade management revenue streams.
  • Keep an eye on the budgets and product development expenses related to the cash and trade management team.
  • Assisting NBC in becoming Tanzania’s “Go-To” transaction bank by collaborating with the Group Heads of Cash and Trade.
  • Manage product tariffs for trade and cash management tariffs by engaging with SME and business banking relationship teams regarding best practices, business practices, ideas, and pricing, as well as challenges related to the performance of products and services.
  • Keep an eye on the volume and caliber of complaints being handled.
  • Boost portfolio value in accordance with predetermined goals.

 

 

Responsibility: – 15% for People Management.

  • In charge of establishing team goals, such as revenue targets (along with the Business Banking Director).
  • Assure that each team member is following their PDs, including their PD Plans.
  • To act as a strong catalyst for RMs in order to boost product take-up and utilization, as well as to facilitate assistance, guidance, advice, and training for product managers.
  • In charge of making sure the relationship management team and the cash and trade management team collaborate closely to meet all cross-selling and sales goals as well as relationship strategies.
  • By providing regular feedback and reviews, assist team members in identifying their own strengths and weaknesses in terms of their abilities and traits.
  • Examine the self-development plans of your staff members to make sure their demands for training and growth are met.
  • Help employees adhere to the NBC Limited Behavior and Values requirements.

 

Accountability: 15% goes into product development.

  • To support ongoing product innovation so that NBC Limited can establish itself as a premier bank for cash and trade management.
  • To guarantee that NBC Limited develops and launches products and services that keep us ahead of the competition, we must conduct proactive research and stay up to date with market trends.
  • Keep up with changes at the group level to facilitate the transfer of success and support ongoing developments.
  • To support development, ask clients, relationship managers, and product managers for regular input on their needs.
  • Make sure new products and services are implemented and rolled out smoothly, getting all necessary business and risk approvals in place.
  • Relationship teams receive information on the competitive climate, training sessions, and (new) product knowledge and adjustments.
  • By thinking about what could go wrong in the processes you run and how errors could be averted, you can continuously monitor and assess products and processes to make sure they are optimal and fulfill customer needs.
  • Engagement with regulatory bodies and, if appropriate, unions should be ongoing and proactive.
  • Encourage the expansion of businesses across a range of industries, such as microfinance, SACCOS, health, education, and non-governmental organizations.
  • In charge of proactively managing dormancy levels for commercial and SMEs clients.
  • Collaborate with the SME Head to oversee and market Business Clubs.
  • Set the general agenda for digital banking.

 

 

10% of accountability is for risk and control.

  • Recognize your personal place in the overall processes that you participate in, taking into account any relevant risks and controls.
  • Respect NBC Limited’s rules and procedures that are relevant to your work while using good judgment and conscientious risk management.
  • Use the established procedure for your business sector to report any risk occurrences, incidents, or problems, and contribute to the understanding of why these occurred and how to avoid them in the future. Seek out proactive methods to enhance control.
  • Make sure that everyone in the team is aware of the procedures, control specifications, and risk management frameworks that have been created for the domain.
  • Collaborate with the Head to determine the necessary steps to conclude audit findings that affect the region. Put the necessary actions into action.
  • During planned audits and management assurance reviews, make sure you deliver all the information the auditors need on time.
  • Make that the BB and CIB teams are aware of all obligations pertaining to trade compliance, and point out any gaps in the necessary authorities.
  • Make sure that all rules and regulations are followed.

 

 

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree, an advanced diploma, a diploma in banking or finance, any certification related to technology, or any combination of these (an MBA in banking or finance is advantageous).

 

Experience is necessary.

A minimum of seven years’ experience in banking with a track record in one of the following fields:

  • SME/commercial digital banking sales, banking sales function.
  • Banking activities, ideally digital banking for SMEs and businesses.
  • Product developments, with a focus on commercial banking and SMEs.

 

Expertise and Abilities:

  • Strong formal presenting abilities to win over people to ideas both inside and outside the company.
  • Strong knowledge of trade finance, especially structured commodities and trade finance, as well as payments and collections.
  • Outstanding cognitive abilities to comprehend and analyze economic and industry data.
  • Sufficient IT expertise and experience to spearhead the digital banking strategy for SME and commercial clients.
  • Outstanding diagnostic abilities and a methodical approach to issue resolution.
