Regarding the position (Role):

Working with the Finance and Administration Manager, Country Office staff, and Corporate Services staff at NI’s Regional Office, to effectively and efficiently support BRIGHT staff on financial and administrative issues in order to contribute to the effectiveness of the NI BRIGHT Project.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Help the manager of finance and administration with the yearly operating and pure program budget development, as well as the forecasting of office operating expenses. Make sure that all spending stays within the approved budget.
  • Examine all project financial documentation to ensure that it complies with Contribution Agreement compliance standards and is accurate, dependable, and comprehensive.
  • Provide a quarterly report on budget deviations to the program staff and keep note of the reasons for the variances.
  • Assist project personnel in comprehending and putting NI financial and administrative policies and procedures into practice. This includes assisting them in making regular and efficient use of the CLM and contracts database.
  • Before submitting financial transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analyses, and reports to the regional office, make sure that correct and timely financial information is produced.
  • Assist the Contracting and Procurement Officer in acquiring office supplies and equipment in accordance with NI procurement norms, delegated authority, and payment arrangements.
  • Create monthly financial reports and make sure that the right codes and allocations are used.
  • By creating administrative agreements and making sure that services are rendered in accordance with the terms of the service agreements, you may support the manager of finance and administration in overseeing service providers.
  • Ensure that all office supplies, equipment, and fixed assets are properly maintained, insured, and that losses and damages are reported. You should also keep inventory of all of these items.

 

 

Concerning You;

You’ve got

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, commerce, accounting, finance, or a similar discipline.
  • A CPA or ACCA is a professional qualification.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably in a project or organization supported by donors. three years of project office administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, accounting controls, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and generally accepted accounting procedures in a global setting.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong familiarity with Peachtree, QuickBooks, Great Plains, or other accounting software is advantageous.
  • The capacity to schedule and arrange tasks to fulfill deadlines.
  • The capacity to adapt to changing circumstances within the company (flexibility).
  • The capacity to function under duress.
  • Strong numerical abilities and meticulousness.
