Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

One Acre Fund

 

 

One Acre Fund was established in 2006 to provide agricultural services to one million smallholder farmers, enabling them to increase the productivity of their farms significantly. The 8,000+ members of our team come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations. We increase farmers’ prosperity by offering high-quality farm goods on credit that are delivered to their houses in walking distance and by offering agricultural instruction to increase harvests. We operate in six key African countries. The farmers we work with at One Acre Fund harvest 50% more food on average after working with us.

Concerning the Role:

The Engineering team’s efforts to improve the technical procedures of the team and the quality and dependability of our solutions are led by the Quality Engineer position.

As you collaborate with Software Engineers, Business Analysts, and DevOps Engineers in our Engineering department, you will answer to an engineering manager on your team.

Our toolkit is built on Azure DevOps, Zephyr Squad, SonarCloud, JIRA, and GitHub.

 

Accountabilities:

  • For your team, create and maintain a high-quality strategy document.
  • Optimize and enhance the overall testing procedures.
  • Create and approve processes to assess product quality and readiness for release.
  • Investigate, create, and suggest testing instruments and industry standards.
  • Create thorough, well-organized test cases and strategies.
  • Find, separate, and monitor issues at every testing stage.
  • Make recommendations for more test cases and evaluate the coverage of test suites using tools like Zephyr Squad and SonarCloud, among others.
  • Respond quickly as first responders to troubleshooting and event management that comes up.

Qualifications:

These are the standard qualifications we search for in all roles. Especially for this position, you will have:

  • Three or more years of software development expertise, with an emphasis on control, quality assurance, and testing of the product. The following certifications are advised: ISTQB, ASTQB, CAST, CSTE, and CSQA.
  • Familiarity with creating and running automated tests, such as end-to-end, integration, and unit tests.
  • Possessing the ability to take accountability for a team’s output and produce reports that demonstrate quality compliance.

Employment Location: Burundi, Zambia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, or Ethiopia
