Job Title: Junior Fiber Technician/ Engineer

The Position Summary:

We are looking for a full-time Fiber Optic Technician with a telecommunications degree to join our team! You’ll install, test, and troubleshoot SM fiber optic lines in a FTTH network.

 

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Installing and maintaining a Fiber Optics FTTH network.
  • To install, repair, and resolve fiber optic systems, ensuring that they function effectively.
  • To take care of fiber splicing and resolve fiber optic issues.
  • The Splice and terminate SM fibers.
  • Under minimum supervision, install, troubleshoot, and repair fiber systems ranging from simple to complicated.
  • To access the fiber optic splice enclosure and splice the relevant fibers straight from a bucket truck.
  • To perform fiber tests using OTDR, power meter/laser source, and scopes.
  • To prep, tray, and splice fiber optic cable in quantities ranging from single to large, as well as execute ring cuts as needed.
  • To install demarcation enclosures, switches, and other communications equipment.
  • The Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

  • To monitor, communicate, and take remedial actions to resolve problems with any fiber or fiber-related equipment.
  • Prepare the wire (cable), splice the connectors, then install the fiber optic cabinets.
  • The OSP/ISP splice enclosure makers.
  • To troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and/or install fiber optic services.
  • The Splice and fiber difficulties using industry-standard equipment.
  • To terminate, splice, document, and test fiber optic wires.

 

 

The Job Experience:

The Desired:

  • The recent Fiber Installation – Pulling and terminating fiber cabling.
  • The fusion splicing and terminations.
  • The General knowledge of OTDRs, light sources, and power meters.
  • Be familiar with splice drawings, OTDR test sheets, and trace reading.
  • The ability to interpret splicing matrixes and design drawings.
  • Capabilities include cable preparation, single and mass fusion splicing, and termination.
  • The fiber optic testing and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Capability to engage with consumers, vendors, contractors, and other required persons.
  • Individuals must adhere to departmental and corporate internal controls, as well as all internal control processes.
  • Individual must possess and apply the highest ethical and business standards, as well as conduct himself/herself with the utmost professional integrity.

  • I hold credentials related to fiber optic technologies.
  • I’m a graduate of Electronics or Electrical Engineering.

  • I’m a Telecommunications graduate.
  • I’m a graduate of another field.
  • Competent with Microsoft Word.
  • Competent with Microsoft Excel.
  • Competent with Google Earth.
  • I have excellent English writing and oral communication skills.
