Job Title: Junior IT Support Technician – 23 Positions

The Job Description:
The IT Support Technician reports to the Airport IT Supervisor and is in charge of maximizing the usage of IT equipment and providing on-site help to end users, ensuring the systems’ maximum uptime.
Job Responsibilities:
- To ensure and manage the continuity of service for the computer network.
- Regularly inspect the equipment and implement corrective and preventive measures to ensure its proper functioning.
- Backup your data and set antivirus definitions and security procedures.
- Keep the computer and devices needed to enroll and analyze travelers.
- Make sure that the software installation respects the company’s existing licensing regulations and policies.
- To escalate the issue and report it appropriately to the IT Airport Supervisor, then use it.
- If a problem cannot be resolved, the tracking system will escalate it to the next level of help.
- To replace hardware components in computers as needed.
- Be able to detect and address simple network issues as they occur.
- Other obligations as assigned.
Job Requirements:
The Knowledge and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar discipline.
- Must be fluent in English and Kiswahili (both written and spoken).
- 2 (two) years of expertise using and troubleshooting Windows 10, Windows Server, and Linux.
- The experience in the IT industry with implemented immigration control software and hardware is advantageous.
- Microsoft.net (Visual Studio), SQL Server, MS Project, or MS Visio are desirable.
- Experience with biometric technologies or data mining is beneficial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary, as is a strong work ethic characterized by professionalism, responsibility, and proactive/problem solving, as well as teamwork experience.
