Job Title: Loan Officer – Group Lending – 3 Posts

The TEVI MICROFINANCE COMPANY is a rapidly developing microfinance organization that has been operating in Dar es Salaam for about 5 years. We offer demand-driven financial services aimed at enabling micro-enterprises.

The organization is currently looking to hire a competent, highly motivated, performance-driven, and experienced professional to help develop its quality loan book (portfolio).

 

 

The main Responsibilities:

  • To meet the targets, sell all of the company’s items to existing and new clients.
  • Process group customer loan applications that satisfy the specified parameters and qualify.
  • Conduct business, home visits, and assess creditworthiness and ability to repay for accepted loan applications.
  • Closely monitor client performance following disbursement, including ensuring loan payments are made on schedule in accordance with the loan contract.
  • To closely monitor all delinquent clients and maintain a high-quality loan portfolio within permissible parameters.
  • Carry out all credit actions as outlined in business policy, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare the required daily, weekly, and monthly reports and send them to your direct supervisor.
  • Perform all duties as given by the supervisor.

 

 

The Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of a diploma in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, or any business-related discipline.
  • Good understanding and experience with group lending operations.
  • The successful candidate must have worked in microfinance for at least 6 years and demonstrated good performance, notably in group lending.
  • Excellent understanding and skills to assess micro and small businesses.
  • Excellent math and communication skills.
