Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

The Job Purpose:
A Logistics Coordinator is in charge of ensuring that goods, resources, and services are delivered smoothly and efficiently from suppliers to customers. This comprises shipping planning and oversight, inventory management, stakeholder communication, and regulatory compliance. The position demands good organizational and communication abilities, as well as the ability to operate in a fast-paced workplace.
The key Accountabilities:
The Shipping Coordination.
- To ensure that shipments arrive on time, schedule and track them.
- To coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- To address and resolve any shipping concerns or delays.
The Inventory management.
- To monitor and maintain stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- To assist with inventory audits and guarantee data accuracy.
The Documentation and compliance.
- To prepare and check shipping papers, such as invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Maintain conformity with local, national, and international regulations.
The Vendor and Stakeholder Relations.
- Develop and maintain connections with transportation providers, suppliers, and customers.
- To negotiate prices and service agreements with the carriers.
The Operational support.
- Help to plan and optimize routes and logistics processes.
- Manage and track activities via logistics software or ERP systems.
Reporting.
- Create frequent reports on shipment, inventory, and logistics performance.
- To analyze data to discover opportunities for improvement.

The Qualification and Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in logistics management or a related field.
- A 1-3 year experience in the clearing and forwarding industry, as well as an East African customs clearing and freight forwarding practice certificate, will be advantageous.
- To demonstrate the capacity to communicate, present, and persuade key stakeholders at all levels of a business, including the executive and C-level.
- The excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- The excellent listening and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, as well as business English fluency.
The Technical Competencies:
- To limit legal risk, be familiar with applicable legislative and regulatory standards, as well as grasp normal customs terms and conditions.
- Extensive expertise utilizing Tanzania Customs Integrated Systems (TANCIS).
- The numerical proficiency; ability to work with vast amounts of data.
