Management and Development for Health (MDH)
The Management and Development for Health (MDH) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to addressing Tanzanian and global public health objectives. These priority include infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria; reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH); nutrition; non-communicable diseases with public health implications; and health system strengthening. MDH strongly supports and collaborates with a variety of local and global institutions, including the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children (MOHCDGEC), the President’s Office Regional Authorities and Local Government (PORALG), donor agencies, academic and non-academic institutions, implementing partners, civil society, community-based and faith-based organizations, and others.
The MDH, in partnership with the Dar es Salaam City Council, Temeke, Kinondoni, Kigamboni, and Ubungo Municipal Councils, invites qualified people to apply for the following positions:
Job: Logistics Officer (10 Posts)
Job location: Dar es Salaam City Council, Temeke, Ubungo, Kigamboni and Kinondoni Municipal Councils.
Answers to/ reports to: Facility in charge
The duties and responsibilities:
- To collect specimens from health facilities and deliver test results to facilities.
- To assist in the distribution of tools, materials, and equipment to health facilities and other designated locations.
- Always drive carefully to guarantee your own and the motorcycle’s safety.
- Perform periodic motorbike checks to identify and report maintenance requirements on time.
- Maintain the motorcycle in good condition at all times.
- Maintain up-to-date motorcycle fuel and service cost records, and ensure that all mandatory motorcycle reports are completed accurately and punctually.
- Carry out (perform) any other duties as given by the Supervisor/Transportation Officer/Site Manager.
Education, work experience, and skills are all required.
- Minimum of secondary school education, with good English and Kiswahili scores.
- Excellent in both spoken and written English, as well as Kiswahili, is needed.
- A driving certificate from a recognized institution, as well as a VETA certificate, is advantageous.
- A valid ‘A’-class driver’s license. License class ‘B’ is an added benefit.
- A minimum of three (3) years of driving experience in the public or private sectors.
- Able to ride a motorcycle.
- Trustworthy, Honest and capable of maintaining secrecy.
- A self-assured with verifiable innovativeness and an established track record of integrity.
- The ability to record and retain trip information as trained.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The ability and desire to work extended hours, including weekends.
- A flexibility is the ability to react to unexpected changes in project requirements at short notice.
