Job Title: Logistics Planner – 1 Position

The Job Purpose:

The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting with the adoption of Kilombero Logistics Ways and related standards in order to optimise the country’s outbound logistics operations.

 

The Specific duties and responsibilities:

  • To support the implementation of best practices, minimum standards, rules, processes, tools, technology, and enablers through the Logistics Way and capability development plan.
  • Analyze and plan data from SAP S4’s various data sources (such as Sales Orders, Transfer Orders, Stock in Transit from Regional Contracts, and Monthly Shipping Plans).
  • To contribute to the planning of all transportation and logistics systems to fulfill long-term goals and assure continuity/efficiency.
  • To optimize the use of logistics assets (equipment, materials, and people) in order to arrange outbound logistics efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager and the Customer Service Center to calculate the entire daily and weekly quantities to be delivered from the mill to certain delivery points, such as depots, inland container depots, or customers.
  • Plan for daily uplifts based on stock keeping unit (SKU) and storage/delivery location.
  • To guarantee that the targets are met, the plan should be reviewed and adjusted in response to changing limitations.
  • After receiving the replenishment plan for the Weekly movement, enter transfer orders into the system to allow sugar to be transported from the mill to in-country or off-country DCs.
  • The source and maintain transporters; update SO or TO with transporter information.
  • Create and administer a tracking system for all sugar shipped from the source warehouse to the destination warehouses.
  • To manage automobiles (vehicles) in transit and indicate those that are overdue.
  • To confirm receiving site area for TO stock, clearing, and transportation teams to carry out the plan (and monitor progress).
  • Develop/ create public relations for the transportation channel, shipping lines, road freight, and border clearance for ATL completion.
  • To liaise with warehouses on sugar availability and quality.
  • To drive benchmarking and continuous improvement analysis to identify gaps and maximise value in the function.
  • To promote and follow Kilombero procedures, policies, and guidelines, particularly those related to SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

 

 

The Job Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in logistics or transportation management.
  • The 3 years of experience in transport and logistics in an FMCG context, covering logistics planning, routing and scheduling, and reverse logistics, with a focus on transportation and warehousing.
  • The well-developed planning abilities; effective verbal and written communication; knowledge of transportation management systems and Excel proficiency; problem-solving ability; customer-centricity while remaining cost-conscious.
  • The knowledge of sales and distribution networks is an added benefit.
  • The experience in shipping, clearing, and forwarding is required when planning an export.

 

 

The Terms of service:

  • The chosen candidate will be offered a permanent contract.
