The Bank of Baroda, a renowned nationalized bank in India with a global reach, is looking for a Manager Compliance for its operations in Tanzania. The bank has 8243 branches in India and 96 branches/offices worldwide, including locations in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Kariakoo, and Mwanza. Bank of Baroda (Tanzania) Limited is a completely owned subsidiary of the Bank of Baroda.

Individuals, businesses, government departments, SMEs, and others can all take advantage of the bank’s comprehensive banking services. The Manager Compliance will oversee the compliance department and ensure that regulations are followed across the bank’s activities.

 

The Major Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the bank’s compliance function.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.
  • To monitor legislative changes and advise management on the necessary compliance actions.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures to assure compliance.
  • Give employees training on KYC, anti-money laundering, and other compliance issues.
  • To ensure the timely submission of regulatory returns and reports.
  • To liaise with external bodies to ensure that the bank complies with legislation.
  • To conduct an internal investigation into compliance issues.
  • Keep up with legal and regulatory developments.
  • To identify and mitigate compliance concerns.
  • To ensure effective compliance systems, procedures, and controls, such as risk management, governance, anti-money laundering, and data protection.
  • Inform the bank’s management of compliance issues.
  • Compile and present compliance reports to the board.
  • To maintain effective working connections with regulatory bodies.
  • To develop and amend the annual compliance work plan as necessary.
  • To oversee and oversee the implementation of the compliance program.
  • To maintain documented and effective compliance procedures in accordance with internal requirements.
  • To interact with regulators about compliance issues.
  • To coordinate audits, reviews, and examinations.
  • Be independently investigate compliance-related issues.
  • Examine external review processes.

 

 

The Qualifications & Experience:

  • The Minimum Qualification: CPA (T) or MBA (Finance) degree. Candidates with better qualifications may also apply.
  • Deep understanding of banking industry norms and guidelines.
  • At least 5 years of banking supervisory experience in the Compliance department.
  • The strong analytical capabilities, strong communication skills, and exceptional organisational and leadership qualities.
  • The ability to plan, organize, lead, and control the Compliance Department’s daily operations.
