The purpose of a job:
In order to ensure that the bank takes advantage of all opportunities arising in the capital market and recognizes factors that impact the competitiveness of the products, it is necessary to monitor financial news using specialized media sources, analyze, comprehend, and summarize data on companies, industry sectors, etc., and conduct research with subject matter experts as needed.
The principal responsibilities:
- Offer diverse evaluations and financial advice on the range of prospects accessible in our regions (EAC & SADC).
- Develop, prepare, implement, and deliver corporate strategy plans for the Capital Markets.
- Create equity and fixed income research reports for East Africa and the SADC, then deliver the findings to management and clients.
- Undertake investigations and design targeted financial models to improve the growth of businesses.
- Giving updates on the most recent financial news to the trading, dealing, and business development teams.
- Examine quarterly and/or annual financial statements, and alert the Bank of any market prospects.
- Creating a periodic financial results update that includes a summary of the results, performance in comparison to expectations, updated predictions, etc.
- Engage in investor meetings, engage with other market participants, and offer insight into the overall market perspective while providing advisory services.
- Write updates on conferences and management meetings, among other significant industry events.
- Ensure that all conducted research is accurately and promptly documented, with the appropriate documentation.
- Developing the valuation models, checking the data, and updating the financial model.
- Handling a variety of client inquiries, such as data requests and industry analyses, among others.
- Collaborate as a team to generate ideas.
- Creation and upkeep of financial models, charts, and graphs, as well as industry, sector, and business databases.
- Participate in the creation of investment documentation, such as information memos and prospectuses.
- Perform financial instrument valuation.
- Create market reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis.
- Transform intricate information into comprehensible tables, graphs, and written reports.
- In order to help the bank manage client asset servicing functions and make sure that clients receive their corporate entitlements in a timely manner for future investment decisions, prepare insightful reports.
- Operate as the client’s single point of contact for phone inquiries about banking solutions.
- Inform bank clients with opportunities and investments in money.
- Encourage strategic efforts like marketing and training that educate bank employees and potential customers about products and services.
- Threats from competitors and market opportunities should be identified in order to inform product strategy and make sure the bank is taking advantage of all prospects in the capital market.
- To safeguard the interests of investors, keep an eye on evolving business process trends, resulting competition, and new and changing regulatory rules.
- Perform research, examine, assess, and start using various company development models and processes, as well as capital expenditure models.

The Required Qualifications:
- Certified by CMSA; attended and finished the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment’s Securities Industry Certification Course.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, banking and finance, accounting, commerce, economics, or a similar discipline.
- Three to five years of experience working as a financial markets research analyst with a successful track record.
- Depth in an organized sales process that includes learning about a customer’s position and issues with it, as well as providing a structural solution based on the customer’s requirements and the Bank’s product line.
- Robust international and domestic network of institutional and retail investors.
- Understanding of the whole banking environment, including knowledge of competitors, industry changes, and legal concerns.
- Good communication with regulators, insurance firms, and foreign and local institutions.
- Assessing risk requires sound business judgment, which is a prerequisite.
- Understanding of the environment of the financial markets with reference to market potential, legal concerns, changes in the industry, awareness of competitors, etc.
- Selling capital market goods to institutional buyers both domestically and internationally.
- Knowledge of both current and potential future business trends.
- Proficiency in financial report writing and presentation.
