The purpose of the role:

The Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for directing the bank’s complete project portfolio, which includes both traditional business activities and cutting-edge digital innovation endeavors. This role provides strategic leadership in applying Agile best practices, ensuring that all projects, particularly those involving digital transformation, are carried out efficiently and achieve maximum value. The ideal applicant will be passionate about Agile, promoting iterative development, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement to help the bank gain a competitive advantage and operational excellence.

 

 

The Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Agile Project Governance and Leadership

  • Create and maintain an Agile project governance architecture that serves both traditional and digital initiatives throughout the bank.
  • To lead the implementation of Agile approaches (such as Scrum and Kanban) to improve collaboration, accelerate delivery, and assure iterative, customer-centric development.
  • To serve as an Agile coach, coaching teams through sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog management to continuously improve processes and results.

 

 

Digital Transformation and Trend Analysis:

  • To identify and assess upcoming technologies, market trends, and regulatory developments that can spur innovation and operational efficiency.
  • To integrate Agile concepts into your digital transformation projects to promote quick prototyping, stakeholder alignment, and iterative solution delivery.

 

 

Project Planning and Execution:

  • To oversee the planning, organization, and execution of all projects to ensure alignment with the bank’s strategic objectives and Agile best practices.
  • To manage initiatives throughout their lifecycle, from initial concept and pilot to implementation, scaling, and organizational adoption.
  • Use Agile metrics (such as velocity and burndown charts) to track progress and modify priorities in real time.

 

 

Enhancing digital services:

  • To lead projects to improve digital customer experiences and streamline internal operations using innovative technology solutions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (ICT, Business Development, and Operations) to quickly test, iterate, and launch innovative digital services.

 

 

The Stakeholder Engagement and Vendor Management:

  • To prepare proposals and business needs for bank-wide projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • To facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as Scrum of Scrums, to guarantee clear communication and alignment between technical teams and business divisions.
  • To manage vendor relationships and project communications while balancing speed of delivery, quality, and compliance.

 

 

The Financial and Performance Management:

  • Perform cost-benefit evaluations and track return on investment (ROI) for all key efforts, particularly digital innovation projects.
  • To define and track performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success, then use data to drive continuous improvement in Agile processes and project outcomes.

 

 

The Market Research and Data Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities for product innovations, process optimization, and new digital products.
  • To analyze competitor activity, consumer feedback, and emerging technologies to guide backlog prioritization and project roadmaps.

 

 

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:

  • Collaborate with the Manager Product Development to distinguish product-specific initiatives from larger transformation projects, ensuring clarity of ownership and execution.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement by performing Agile retrospectives, incorporating lessons gained, and scaling best practices across all teams.

 

 

The Qualifications & Experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experienced with Agile project planning, backlog management, sprints, retrospectives, and continuous delivery.
  • Capability to undertake market research, data analysis, and process improvement to help lead project strategy.
  • Experience with digital banking solutions, innovation trends, and core banking platforms.
  • An excellent verbal and written communication abilities, as well as an ability to promote cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder alignment.
  • A proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Projects, and Agile technologies (such as Jira and Trello) for tracking and reporting project progress.
