Girl Effect

Who we are

A global nonprofit organization called Girl Effect creates media that women need, want, and trust. Our programming, which includes chatbots, chat programs, TV dramas, and tech, assists teenage females in Asia and Africa in making decisions and making changes in their life.

By providing information and addressing concerns on relationships, education, health, and nutrition, we establish safe places for girls and give them the tools they need to challenge preconceived notions about what is “for a girl.”
We have 50 million people within our reach. Additionally, we’re reaching girls at scale using technology so that they can all choose to take charge of their bodies, health, education, and livelihood.
Because when a girl discovers that she has the ability to make decisions that alter her life, it encourages others to follow in her footsteps. She sets off a chain reaction that affects her nation, neighborhood, and family.
The Girl Effect is that.

Background:

Girl Effect employs branded media as a means of spreading messages on behavior modification.

We connect with girls everywhere, both online and off, to provide them with support during life’s pivotal moments when decisions about their health, education, and financial future must be made.

Our proficiency in behavior modification science is employed to inspire and provide girls with knowledge and assistance so they can envision a different future for themselves, take action, and create a stronger demand for the resources and possibilities that are accessible to them.

Among our young brands are Yegna in Ethiopia, Tujibebe in Tanzania, and Chhaa Jaa in India. They can be found in a variety of platforms, including digital (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Tiktok, and Whatsapp), print, radio, TV, and radio. When combined, these brands reach millions of youth throughout South Asia and Africa.

The Brand:

Tujibebe is a brand that gives young and adolescent Tanzanian women the knowledge and motivation they need to make decisions about their livelihood, education, and health—from starting a small business and saving money for the future to managing parenthood and going to the doctor.

Tujibebe, which translates to “let’s lift ourselves up, together” in Swahili, unites young people to overcome obstacles in life and pursue their goals. Girls can participate with Tujibebe’s material online through interactive audio stories, digital channels, radio dramas, and radio chat shows, regardless of whether they own or borrow a mobile phone.

We provide females free calls to our Interactive Voice Response (IVR) line, which includes motivational tales and counsel from female entrepreneurs, as well as quizzes and the largest network provider in Tanzania, Vodacom.
Tujibebe presently has 800,000 web product users, 820,000 IVR users, 96,000 girls linked to its social media platforms, and 4.3 million people reached through its radio drama. We set out to contact 400,000 females, and thus far, we have reached anything from 1.7 million to 2.3 million.

The Scope:

Being a part of Tujibebe at this time is amazing. We are in the process of rebranding in order to establish a household brand that appeals to a core demographic of young Tanzanian women and girls (15–29 years old). In addition, we have launched important programs in strategic regions of Tanzania with funding to address obstacles and promote positive behaviors in the areas of routine and HPV vaccination uptake, SRH, economic empowerment, and early childhood development for young parents.

The marketing manager will be essential in helping our audience become more aware of the Tujibebe brand. They will make sure viewers are aware of, adore, and confident in our brand by collaborating with the digital, production, and content managers to support them in creating a future.
