We are currently recruiting a highly skilled and dedicated professional for the job of Marketing Manager Serena Hotels Tanzania, whose responsibilities will be as follows: –
The Key Job Purpose:
The Marketing Manager will help the Regional Marketing Director with day-to-day marketing management, creative agency coordination, and partnerships, as well as ensuring seamless planning and operational execution of Serena’s marketing and brand management initiatives. He/she will be based in Arusha, Tanzania, and will be in charge of B2C and B2B marketing, communications, and branding for the Arusha Serena Hotel, Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge, Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge, Kirawira Serena Camp, Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp, and Serena Mivumo River Lodge, transforming Serena into Tanzania’s leading hospitality brand.
The key responsibilities:
The tasks and important job functions of the Regional Marketing Director and GM include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creating B2B and B2C marketing campaigns and promotional plans based on product attributes and target audiences for city hotels, lodges, and camps.
- A network to gain insights from B2B partners, develop new prospects, tailor new B2B solutions, and help our sales staff work more efficiently.
- To coordinate with advertising/creative agencies to ensure that all materials match hotel standards as per the brand guidelines.
- To manage the hotel’s B2B client and partner relationships, as well as weekly brand messages to various chambers of commerce or corporate societies.
- To monitor competition and industry trends to find chances for brand expansion and collaboration.
- To assist the Regional Marketing Director in preparing and printing B2B and B2C gifts and press kits for press conferences across the country/region.
- To activate B2C digital and social marketing channels, including Instagram and Facebook, and collaborate with the Regional Digital Marketing Executive on scheduling and content creation.
- To assist the Regional Marketing Director with logistics for B2C, PR, advertising, digital communications, influencer, and relationship management.
- To draft briefs for creative and advertising agencies, as well as content developers, for approval by GM and RMD on execution output.
- The execute the brand strategy’s quarterly actions for MICE, Rooms, F&B, Domestic and International Leisure, and Maisha Spa activities.
- Create a monthly report and KPI analysis for all brands, PR, and advertising efforts, and assess impact.
- To report campaign KPIs to the GM and Regional Marketing Director, and provide monthly execution reports to assess impact.
- The Brand Management: Ensure that the brand rules are carefully followed when designing and producing brand, marketing, and public relations collateral including the hotel logo. Ensure that hotel signage, housekeeping materials, restaurant menus, banners, and other important collateral are up to date.
- Crisis Communication: Ensure that all PR/Guest Experience/Communication on the ground is reported to the regional office, copying the RDM, within 24 hours, regardless of the medium (a guest review, a social media comment, an email complaint, reservations, etc.).
- Photography/ Videography: Identifying local, skilled hotel photographers and videographers in your country and sharing a shortlist of portfolios for RDM assessment and approval. Oversee shootings for website material, social media content, and the general content bank. Product photography, architecture, and timeless social media content.
- Digital: Ensure that pages such as Tripadvisor and Google My Business are up to date in accordance with the Regional Support Office SOPs. Use marketing phone-reels, clips, and stills to create evergreen video content for food and beverage, internal events, and in-house use.
- To maintain the local media database, in collaboration with the Marketing Director’s Regional Support Office.
- To share monthly press clippings from newspapers, digital PR, TV, videos, and radio interviews with the Regional Marketing Director.
- To ensure that all Marketing SOPs shared by the Regional Marketing Director are followed by obtaining approvals for any publications, internal communications, external communications, press releases, magazine advertisements, billboards, radio ads, photography, content creation, marketing, and brand partnerships prior to flight.
- To ensure that regional and local marketing efforts/plans/initiatives are budgeted to cover all promotions for the entire year. For example, Festive, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Easter, Iftar/Idd, Diwali, and any other important local holidays in Tanzania.
- To oversee the branding and membership growth of prestige through cross-selling and new member acquisition.
The Qualifications:
- Ideally, an advertising agency professional with 3-5 years of marketing experience.
- A university degree in marketing, journalism, or communication.
- A creative, enthusiastic self-starter with the capacity to multitask.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- A skilled and confident communicator with writing, oral, and presenting skills.
- Experience in hospitality marketing is preferred, but not required.
- Friendly personality and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
