The Karibu Tanzania Organization (KTO) is a vibrant national-level non-governmental organization (NGO) that ignites the flames of education and community development throughout Tanzania. As a formidable umbrella organization, KTO brings together the 55 Folk Development Colleges (FDCs) around the country, transforming them into beacons of progress and empowerment.

KTO, founded in the 1990s through a robust collaboration between Tanzanian Folk Development Colleges (FDCs) and Swedish Folk high schools, exemplifies the spirit of global solidarity. We are happy to act as a catalyst for change, linking Principals, other staff members, participants, and local communities in and around, who make up the majority of our enthusiastic members.

Through close cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST), other related Ministries, and esteemed national and international partners, our nationwide network enables us to reach out to countless individuals, fostering education, and uplifting communities.

 

 

An Overview of the Position:

As a Media Specialist Intern, you will support the media and communications team by creating engaging content across multiple digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in media production, digital marketing, and communications while contributing to a dynamic and impactful organization.

 

 

The key responsibilities:

  • To assist in creating and curating content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
  • To support the production of videos, photos, and other visual content for marketing and promotional materials.
  • Compose and modify blog entries, articles, and social media captions.
  • Help administer the organization’s social media profiles and interact with fans.
  • To assist in creating media campaigns to raise brand recognition and engagement.
  • To collaborate to create newsletters, press releases, and other written communications.
  • To monitor media coverage and the effectiveness of digital efforts.
  • To contribute to the formation of the organization’s media strategy.
  • Carry out/ perform additional media-related activities as needed.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • The currently enrolled or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (for example, Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field).
  • A strong passion for social media management, digital marketing, and content development.
  • A proficiency with social media platforms and tools (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Canva).
  • The basic experience of photo and video editing tools (such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, or Canva).
  • The excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English; Kiswahili is an asset.
  • A strong creative, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • A capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • A high sense of detail and visual beauty.
