Accountabilities:

  • Continue to be registered in order to work as a laboratory technician in Tanzania.
  • As instructed by the clinic doctor, conduct basic laboratory tests using the equipment available at NMGM for general medical check-ups and occupational health programs.
  • Provide the local community emergency supportive laboratory services in accordance with the guidelines and to the extent that the NMGM Medical Doctor permits.
  • Give precise lab results.
  • Keeps track of equipment inspections and ensures that it is maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Accountable for being knowledgeable about how to operate and care for lab equipment.
  • Maintain monthly, weekly, and daily statistics.
  • Assure adherence to pertinent corporate codes of conduct and OHS requirements in Tanzania.
  • Accountable for the proper handling and disposal of all test specimens and related equipment.
  • Create and turn in a monthly report with precise details regarding the equipment used in the lab.
  • Preserves all paperwork in a secure setting. has agreed to a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Carries out comparable tasks as given by the management.
  • The ability to use and maintain the best biochemical medical equipment, such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and the capacity to gather and process samples in accordance with established protocols.
  • Uphold all medical protocols, including the patient’s medical information’s confidentiality.
  • To guarantee continuous wear of personal protective equipment and uphold the strictest standards for laboratory sterilisation processes.
  • Create and turn in a monthly report with precise details regarding the equipment used in the lab.
  • Preserves all paperwork in a secure setting. has agreed to a non-disclosure agreement.

Required Qualification:

  • Completely certified to work as a Laboratory Technician (Diploma) in Tanzania after receiving the necessary government authorization.
  • Graduated with honors from an accredited medical school offering laboratory instruction at the Academy level or above.

 

Required experience and competencies:

  • Three years or more of experience working as a laboratory technician.
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS.
  • Awareness about Tanzanian laws and culture.
  • Outstanding proficiency with all facets of laboratory work and a clear technical aptitude for using medical equipment in the lab.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Take ownership of your actions and use initiative to complete important activities without needing direct supervision.
  • Previous experience working in medical facilities demonstrating the capacity to meet the aforementioned requirements on client sites.
  • Show that you can read and understand lab tests.
  • The capacity to choose priorities for one’s own job.
