The specific Knowledge: A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in the cement or surface mining business.

The main duties:

  • To maintain and submit KPI reports on safety and the environment for mining operations and haulage.
  • To submit monthly volumetric surveys that include tonnages retrieved from pits and overburden materials, as well as an update to the monthly topography map.
  • Create a short-term mining strategy that ensures pit designs are followed and stripping ratios are properly managed to prevent contamination of ore/waste materials.
  • To supervise drilling and blasting operations in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring that raw mix targets are met.
  • To supervise the loading procedure, ensuring that the quality (rock size and moisture) and quantity of materials loaded meet the requirements of the plan.
  • To submit reconciliation reports for mining and haulage operations completed with the Service Provider.
  • Deep understanding of mining operations, production, maintenance, process control, and health and safety management.
  • To adhere to all safety protocols and recommendations to avoid accidents, injuries, and environmental issues. Report any safety dangers, mishaps, or near-misses to management.
  • To ensure that OSHA complies with company and legislative obligations.
  • The compliance with HC Group’s Code of Business Conduct, Compliance Policies, and Guidelines.
  • Carry out/ perform any other duties as given by the supervisor.

 

 

 

The minimum requirements (qualifications):

  • Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • The five (5) years or more of surface mining operations with a valid blasting certificate.
  • A strong working knowledge of all drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling operations, as well as quality standards and inventory management.
  • The supervisory experience and highly developed leadership qualities.
  • The excellent knowledge of MS Office, mining/blasting software, and other applications used in mining surveys.
  • To organize, budgeting, and planning abilities along with initiative and pro-activeness.
