The key responsibilities:

The Activity:

  • To participate in the creation of action plans to overcome barriers to the effective implementation of improved nutrition practices.
  • In conjunction with RNVs, design and implement high-quality nutritional education and counseling for pregnant and lactating women, persons living with HIV, moderately malnourished children under the age of two, and children under the age of five.
  • To organize and conduct successful home visits for qualified recipients.
  • To ensure that circle and daily food distribution plans are in place and that all relevant stakeholders are aware of them.
  • To supervise and support Refugee Nutrition Volunteers as they provide nutrition services in the implementation area.
  • To ensure that food commodities are managed according to commodity principles.
  • To compile periodic food distribution and nutritional update reports.

 

 

Final Results:

  • The action plans were prepared and discussed with the relevant supervisor.
  • Sessions were created and executed.
  • The quality house visits were made.
  • Plans were created and presented properly.
  • RNVs performed their functions precisely.
  • Losses were avoided, and internal controls were strengthened.
  • Quality reports were also adhered to.

 

 

THE KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLES:

The required professional experience.

  • One year of experience dealing with humanitarian initiatives.
  • Experience with implementing nutritional programs.
  • Experience dealing with refugee programs.

 

 

The required education, training, license, registration, and certification:

  • Nutritional program and reaction training.

 

 

The preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • The degree in Nutrition from a reputable college.

 

 

Travel and/or Working Environment:

  • The refugee camps.

 

 

The Physical requirements:

  • Should be physically fit.

 

 

The Language requirements:

  • A fluent in both English and Swahili.

 

 

The Key Working Relationship:

  • A contact (inside WV or outside WV).

 

 

The WFP Field Staff:

The Reason for contact.

  • They are always on the ground, seeing the distribution process, therefore excellent communication is crucial.

 

 

The UNHCR Field Staff:

The Reason for contact.

  • To fix issues with beneficiary registration.

 

 

The Plan International:

  • For kid protection issues related to food services.

 

 

The Refugee community leaders:

The Reason for Contact:

  • The information transmission to the larger community.

 

 

The EDP staff:

  • Food requests from the store, as well as any food delivery-related communications.
