Denmark’s partnership with Tanzania has evolved since 1963, when Tanzania became Denmark’s first African partner. Over the last 60 years, Denmark has contributed more than 50 trillion TZS to Tanzania’s socioeconomic growth through Danida, and intimate relationships have developed between individuals and organizations.
Denmark is expanding its collaboration with Tanzania in acknowledgment of Tanzania’s changing importance on the world stage, and in accordance with the Danish Government’s objective for more engagement with African countries. In addition to development cooperation, we will expand our engagement through government-to-government twinning, and we are committed to deeper commercial and investment connections, as well as a rich political discussion on national and global problems that are important to both Denmark and Tanzania.

The Tanzania Career Opportunities:

As a Political Officer, your primary responsibility will be to assist management in keeping track of Tanzania’s political interests on a regional and global scale. You will contribute to the Embassy’s evaluation of Tanzania’s political economy and support efforts to strengthen ties between Denmark and Tanzania on policy areas of mutual interest, such as peace and stability and regional security. Denmark will join the UN Security Council in 2025-2026.
The key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create strong local networks and conduct regular outreach to relevant parties based on the Embassy’s priorities, which include regional security.
- To prepare written analyses and reports on regional security, as well as political and social developments that are relevant to Danish policy priorities.
- To ensure active participation in appropriate working groups and coordinating forums.
- To manage smaller partnerships with think tanks.
- Maintain an ongoing communication with Danish and Tanzanian researchers and think tanks.
