The Isamilo International School, located in Mwanza, Tanzania, is owned by the Anglican Church of Tanzania and operated by the Diocese of Victoria Nyanza. Established in 1956, the school first served the children of expatriates and missionaries working in the area, primarily those in the medical and mining industries, as well as families from the local Tanzanian community. The Current Vacancies:
IISM, Tanzania is now looking for qualified, dynamic, open-minded, committed, effective, and experienced teachers for the upcoming academic year, August 2025/26.
The Roles and responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver interesting and differentiated lessons that align with the curriculum and teacher standards.
- Classroom Management: Establish a safe, respectful, and exciting learning environment that encourages good behavior and excellent academic standards.
- Student Progress Monitoring entails regularly assessing, recording, and reporting on students’ development, progress, and achievement.
- Pastoral Care: Serve as the initial point of contact for students in the classroom, promoting their social, emotional, and intellectual well-being.
- Parent contact: Maintain open and professional contact with parents and caregivers about student development, conduct, and other issues.
- Collaborative Working: Work with colleagues, support personnel, and school administration to improve the overall learning experience.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and pupil development.
- Inclusion & Diversity: Ensure that all students, regardless of background or ability, are supported and integrated into all elements of school life.
- Professional Development: Participate in continuing professional learning and contribute to overall school efforts and improvements.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Take part in and, when appropriate, lead extracurricular activities or school events.
The Qualifications and requirements:
- A relevant teaching degree and professional teaching qualification.
- An experience teaching in EY, KS1, or KS2.
- To demonstrate a good understanding of the current Cambridge curriculum.
- Be committed to difference and SEND-inclusive practice.
- Capable of communicating well with children, parents, and all staff members.
- The ability to operate independently and collaboratively.
- Be an exceptional role model for students, educators, and staff.
- A creative and enthusiastic attitude to problem resolution.
- To uphold the school’s principles in a way that respects all faiths.
