The Background:
Since 1982, Tanzania and Belgium have worked together on innovative projects to promote sustainable development. Enabel has been at the vanguard of these efforts, and is currently working on projects to make cities more inclusive, green, and smart, improve access to justice, promote education and skill development, and boost Tanzania’s beekeeping value chain. The Function:
The Procurement and logistical Coordinator will be crucial in improving the efficiency and success of our logistical operations. He or she will be in charge of procuring high-quality goods, services, and works for less than €30,000, ensuring that they satisfy the demands and standards of the organization. The post will involve leading a team of 6+ logistical and administrative staff across 6 locations in Tanzania, providing a unique opportunity to have a long-term effect by improving operational performance and team capability. The key responsibilities:
Procurement Management:
- To drive efficient and ethical procurement of products, services, and works for less than €30,000.
- Make sure that all procurement data in the system is up to date so that performance management and reporting are accurate.
- To ensure that procurement activities are consistent with organizational rules and industry best practices.
Team Leadership and Capacity Building:
- To lead, encourage, and coach a diverse team of 6+ logistical and administrative professionals spread across 6 sites.
- Create a culture of growth and development by offering advice, training, and constructive feedback.
- To empower your team to maximize their potential while adhering to systems and performance objectives.
Fleet Management:
- To take care of fleet operations, ensuring that cars are maintained, used efficiently, and drivers are supported.
- To implement solutions that enhance fleet efficiency while minimizing expenses, resulting in exceptional service to our internal clients.
Inventory & Asset Management:
- Manage inventory processes to ensure accurate tracking, optimal stock levels, and timely replacement.
- To ensure that all office equipment and resources are well-maintained and efficiently used across all locations.
Office and Facility Management:
- To lead the management of office facilities, guaranteeing their security, functionality, and upkeep.
- To streamline operational processes to promote a more productive and organized work environment.
Process Improvement:
- Promote innovation by identifying ways to improve logistics and procurement procedures.
- Create and deploy tools and processes that promote operational excellence.
The Profile and Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, business administration, or another relevant discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in procurement or logistics.
- At least 5 years of team management experience (remote management experience is preferred).
The Specific skills or knowledge required:
- The excellent leadership and team-building abilities, including the ability to manage a distributed team.
- Excellent understanding of procurement procedures and logistical management systems.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with ERP systems.
- A solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solution- and results-focused attitude.
- The excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A well-organized team player with a proactive and flexible work attitude.
- Capability to handle various priorities and work under pressure.
- The collaborative governance mindset (self-responsibility, accountability, real communication, and so on).
- Displays engagement, a strong sense of accountability, and honesty.
- The experience working with donor-funded or development programs is beneficial.
