One of the biggest suppliers of non-formal education worldwide is BRAC. Since 2002, we have been operating schools both globally and in Bangladesh for more than 30 years. In Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Uganda, BRAC presently runs an international pre-primary school program. We are also creating marketplaces for early childhood development.
(ECD) for children aged three to five in the same nations via our “Play Labs” initiative. This involves the running of thirty play labs in Tanzania that are supported by the Yidan Prize and co-located with the Tanzanian government.
In Tanzania, BRAC Enterprises Tanzania Limited (BETL) is a legally recognized private corporation. As a social enterprise, BETL is now testing a cross-subsidy business plan for ECD in Tanzania to enhance the development of 35-year-old kids. Through the creation of a viable business plan for the provision of an affordable, excellent, and expandable play-based early childhood education program, BRAC hopes to stimulate Tanzania’s private ECD sector. In Dar es Salaam, the BETL team has opened five schools and is in the midst of launching one mobile ECD program.

Position: Procurement Intern
Job location: Dar es Salaam
The Job Purpose:
To effectively assist and guarantee the accomplishment of BRAC Enterprises’ whole procurement and logistics operations while making efficient use of available resources in compliance with BRAC’s procurement policies and procedures.
MAIN DUTY OBLIGATIONS:
- To start the procurement process in order to obtain supplies, equipment, labor, and consulting for the project.
- Oversee all procurement-related activities that concern quality assurance, adherence to specifications, delivery tracking and verification, and on-time delivery to the customer.
- Make sure that all procurement and logistical activities are conducted fairly, with open and transparent bidding processes, healthy competition, and the greatest pricing and value for the money.
- Provide accurate documentation of all procurement activities, including updated inventory, and monthly reporting systems.
- Suppliers’ invoices for products and services delivered or provided, along with any accompanying documentation, are duly validated and sent to the finance department.
- Create and send reports to the line supervisor on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis so that stakeholders can see them.
- Verify adherence to local legal requirements, rules, standards, and procurement procedures of Brac Enterprises.
- Take the lead in creating and maintaining a current supplier database, as well as in prequalifying suppliers.

- Team members and guarantee that safety regulations are followed in all actions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CAPACITY:
- A degree from a renowned university in the relevant field, such as procurement.
- Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics and Supply, or Management.
- Planning abilities include the capacity for precise work and timely completion of tasks.
- Analytical abilities: Capacity to evaluate logistical issues and come up with workable solutions fast.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, particularly outstanding English writing and speaking abilities.
- Abilities in negotiations.
- High standards of honesty and integrity.
- Competent with a computer, able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, among other basic programs.
SKILL SET (EDUCATION) REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, logistics and supply, operations management, or procurement management.
