Concern/ about the role:
The Project Assistant will maintain regular contact with the Tanzania Country Office and donors to report on project progress and push for policy changes that enhance sustainability.
Job responsibilities:
- Help develop and implement the International Trachoma Initiative’s Avoidable.
- The Blindness Fund Trachoma Programme works in partnership with regional and district teams.
- To assist partners in identifying and addressing their capacity-building requirements.
- Share information about Sightsavers and the Trachoma Programme with partners.
- Check patient documentation for completeness and accuracy, and correct any errors as appropriate.
- Facilitating networks and meetings can help partners share knowledge and collaborate more effectively.
- To assist project partners in creating budgets and forecasting.
- To monitor the project’s financial resources and communicate with the finance team as appropriate.
- Make sure that partners submit their financial returns on-time.
- Give the programme team more information, case studies, and pertinent news pieces.
- To represent the project at forums and meetings, arguing for its goals and objectives.
The Requirements:
The Essential:
- Knowledge/ understanding of government systems, notably in the health sector, via the Ministry of Health and local government bodies.
- The experience with monitoring and assessment.
- The proficiency in reporting.
- Excellent administrative support capabilities.
- Superb interpersonal and communication abilities.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The capacity development or facilitation abilities.
- Expertise in handling project budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
- Experience with computer packages and global ICT communication systems.
The Desirable:
- The previous experience in a similar position in the health sector.
- Other/ additional qualifications for project management or public health.
- Understanding/ knowledge of the software or tools used for project monitoring and evaluation.
