The Work Arrangement: A combination of in-office and remote work based on Right To Play’s work arrangement and the department’s operational demands.

An authorized to Work in Tanzania (Can work lawfully without a visa or work permit sponsorship).

Hiring Salary: Starting at Tshs. 28,812,125 per year (before taxes).

The target start date is April 2025.

The Contract Duration: Full-time, 12-month contract with the option to renew based on performance and funding availability.

The Role Summary:

As a Project Coordinator reports directly to the Project Officer and is in charge of carrying out Right To Play project operations as well as supporting and guiding the community team in the project area through the use of RTP tools. The incumbent is also responsible for overseeing the project’s delivery quality and effectiveness.

 

 

 

What You Will Do.

The Activity Planning and Implementation (45% time):

  • To ensure the involvement of partners, children/young people, and stakeholders in the project development and implementation of the suggested activities.
  • Helps instructors and coaches create activity plans and schedules, supports their innovations while assuring conformity with the project proposal, facilitates their activities, and reports to the Project Officer.
  • To organize and manages special events such as workshops, trainings, play days, awareness campaigns, and sports tournaments.
  • In collaboration with partners, teachers, and coaches, analyze events, provide updates on lessons learned and best practices, and report on progress and difficulties as they emerge.
  • To manage and coordinates logistics for training courses and events.
  • To access the training needs of coaches, teachers, and partners, offers appropriate interventions, and collaborates with them to create training schedules.
  • To organize and facilitates training courses led by other program personnel, and participates in them as needed.
  • To facilitate and analyzes training sessions led by teacher trainers, and reports to the project officer.
  • Manages and distributes equipment within the specified neighborhood.
  • To handle advance payments and handles cash funds for activity implementation.
  • Make follow up with partners on how they are spending the funding received for project implementation in the location, verifying the correctness of their financial reports and receipts, and reporting to the Project Officer.
  • To assess the community’s facility repair and upgrade needs, facilitates permitted work, and ensures that all work is executed in accordance with approved standards.

 

 

 

The Monitoring and reporting (20 percent of time):

  • To conduct regular field visits with partners and government officials to follow up and provide support as needed.
  • Makes regular visits to project implementation sites/schools to give coaching and mentoring to coaches, teachers, youth/junior leaders, and community leaders.
  • To participate in workshops/training to partners, coaches, and teachers in the quantitative data collection tools and qualitative monitoring tools and ensures accurate and timely submission of quantitative and qualitative data to RTP team.
  • To provide narrative, qualitative, and quantitative monitoring information/data to provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that update the Country Office on project progress.
  • To prepare and submits financial reports relating to activity implementation, and initiates the payment process for transportation/other relevant services provided by suppliers for workshops/trainings, meetings, events, and competitions.
  • To ensure that all project-related papers are properly stored and that internal RTP materials are not disclosed with others without consent.
  • To ensure that partners, coaches, and teachers follow the RTP Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.

 

 

To Establish and Maintain Partnerships (20% of Time):

  • To identify community needs and contributes in the selection of communities and partners for inclusion in the RTP program in the relevant field.
  • To represent RTP in the project area and relevant forums, as well as conducting regular meetings with local partners, stakeholders, and key beneficiaries in the allocated community.
  • To organize, leads, and reports on stakeholder and key beneficiary meetings in the allocated community.
  • To ensure that local community leaders are aware of RTP operations and that they participate as needed.

 

 

The Supervision and guidance (ten percent of time):

  • To conduct performance evaluations for coaches and teachers.
    Implements coaches’ and instructors’ professional development and peer learning methodologies through community of practices and/or other current approaches, as appropriate for the project, in collaboration and consultation with partners, the Project Officer, and the Training Officer.
  • Collaborates with partners to identify the need for coaches and teachers, which is then advocated to the project officer and RTP team.
  • Recognizes and promotes coaches and teachers for qualification.
  • To identify gaps in project implementation in the designated community and makes recommendations to the Project Officer.

 

 

Additional (other) tasks as assigned (5% time).

What You’ll Bring (Essential).

Education/Training/Certification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

 

 

Job Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience working on project execution and coordination, with some team leadership experience preferred.

 

 

The Knowledge/Skills:

  • To understand of educational principles and instruction.
  • A computer proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the Internet.
  • The effective report writing.
  • To understand the community-led process.
  • To understand the notion of play-based learning.
  • To understand of children’s rights and protection.

 

 

Languages:

  • Fluent in both verbal and written English.

 

 

A Bonus if you bring (not required):

  • A Master’s degree in early childhood education.
  • The experience carrying out a development program with local communities in both rural and urban areas.
  • The experience with training and leading workshops.
  • The experience with teaching.
