Good People International (GPI)

 

 

In 1999, GOOD PEOPLE INTERNATIONAL (GPI) was founded as an NGO with the goal of assisting those in need and battling global poverty and illness. UN ECOSOC grants special status to the international development NGO Good People International.

 

 

The Mission and Vision of GPI:

By providing assistance and support to enable individuals to become self-sufficient, GPI aims to create a happy society in which no one is afflicted by illness, tragedy, or poverty.

In order to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals of no poverty, no hunger, excellent health and well-being, and high-quality education, GPI seeks to be the foremost humanitarian organization.

In order to accomplish its objectives, GPI is working on a number of programs in the areas of health and medicine, water, sanitation, and hygiene, income production, supporting families in need, and humanitarian assistance.

 

GPI in Tanzania

Since 2020, Good People International Tanzania has been working on regional development initiatives in Zanzibar’s Kati district. The Kidimni Primary Health Care Unit (PHCU) was constructed by GPIT and turned over to the government in 2021. Through PHCU operational support and health hygiene education programs, it helps to improve the community’s health environment. In addition, GPIT is working to build kindergartens in the Kidimni, support high-quality basic education, enhance learning conditions, and improve children’s nutrition. It has also trained disabled and underprivileged youth in baking skills to help them become self-reliant.

 

Project:

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), a government organization under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of official development assistance in Korea, and Good People International, a Korean international relief and development NGO, are supporting the “Project for the Community-Based Child Nutrition Improvement in Kati district, Tanzania.” In Kati County, Zanzibar, the project helps 23 communities, 22 public pre-schools, and 27 PHCUs to enhance community-based nutrition for kids under five. The initiative aims to enhance the nutritional status and disease management of children at home and in preschools, bolster the capacity of nearby healthcare facilities, and promote healthy lifestyle choices within the community.

 

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Preschool, village-based, and Primary Health Community Unit initiatives are being carried out.
    writing reports and documentation.
  • Gathering and organizing data for the purpose of managing project performance.
  • Interacting and speaking with locals and project stakeholders.

 

 

Salary Range: Negotiable, depending on experience.

Workplace/ Job location: Zanzibar, Tanzania United Republic of.

Type of employment: Full-time hours.

 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be a native of Zanzibar and possess extensive local knowledge.
  • Experience working in NGOs for more than two years is preferred, especially if it involves government or Korean programs.
  • Proficiency in writing and speaking English papers.
  • Strong computer abilities.
  • Commitment to the goals and principles of Good People International.
  • High degrees of initiative and self-motivation.
