Job Title: Project Supervisor

Type of Job Contract: Regular Position.

Job Experience: Not more than 3 years.

 

The profile of the candidate:

  • Engineering bachelor’s degree in science.
  • A minimum of one (1) year’s experience managing engineering responsibilities.
  • Abilities in project management.
  • Capable of independence in terms of analysis, proactivity, ability to negotiate, decision-making, and communication.
  • Devoted to quality, safety, health, and the environment.
  • A graduate engineer who holds an Engineers Registration Board (ERB) registration.
  • Very wanted is AutoCAD.
  • Outstanding proficiency with the Microsoft Suite.

Job Activities:

HSEQ.

  • All employees, contractors, and clients must respect the Golden Rules as well as all HSE regulations and standards of TOTAL.
  • Application of Safety Management Systems: Transportation (SMT / PATROM), Depots (MAESTRO1 & MAESTRO Log).
  • Product quality control to ensure that goods meet Tanzanian quality standards as set forth by TBS.
  • Obtaining a work permit and signing a preventive plan with contractors before beginning any work.

Integrity Supervisory:

  • Create and implement plans to install the necessary safety barriers and invariants on the job site while adhering to the LTP and budget.
  • Participates actively in the Integrity Steering Committees and Technical Integrity evaluations for the site.
  • Guarantees the execution of corrective steps and compensation measures related to degraded circumstances.

Initiatives (Projects):

  • In charge of Projects oversight of the terminals and depots.
  • Following technical standards and rules as well as TOTAL HSEQ when conducting all engineering tasks.
  • Prepare thorough bid documents or `request for proposals` (RFP) for projects under the affiliate’s direct management.
  • Provide suggestions for improving the sites’ assets (equipment layout, BOQ, etc.).
  • Manage and oversee on-site projects. It is recommended that management of change (MOC) training be given prior to project commissioning.
  • Observe the INVARIANT at the places.
  • As per the LTP, install every invariant on the sites.
  • Carrying out site improvement projects.
  • Budget control: projects are carried out within the allocated funds.
  • Quality control: projects are carried out in accordance with the stated standards of quality.
  • Time control: initiatives are carried out within the allotted time.
  • Follow up with the finance department on contractual project payments.
  • Provide the sites’ investment budget and generate a report every month.
  • Prepare thorough bid documents or request for proposals` (RFP) for projects under the affiliate’s direct management.
  • Advantageous talks prior to start-up and tender assessments of the aforementioned kind of projects.
  • Reporting.
  • Engage in dialogue with site managers to discuss projects and their requirements.
  • Create a weekly report that details all activity, including projects and maintenance.
  • Observe all Tanzanian laws and regulations as well as Total’s technical and HSEQ standards and guidelines in all projects and work.
  • Make sure the project is moving forward and is finished by the deadline.
  • Create the investment budget for the upcoming year and adhere to it.
  • As you prepare each tank for inspection, make sure the equipment is up to par.

Setting Environment and Context:

  • Because of the nature of the products being handled, working in this high-risk environment demands a high level of commitment, consideration, and evaluation of every task that needs to be completed.
  • Any job that needs to be done safely and effectively needs to have a job safety analysis, or JSA.
  • Procedures and working instructions serve as guidelines to create a comfortable workplace.
  • Supplying essential interfaces for commercial, procurement, maintenance, and supply services.

Close collaboration with:

  • Internally: Purchasing and Finance Department, EM, OM, Supply Team, Commercial Department, HSEQ, Customer Service Department, Depot Managers, Logistics Manager, Paris HO (AMO – Log).
  • External parties include government organizations including W&M, EWURA, TBS, and contractors and engineering consultants.

Principal difficulties:

  • Insufficient dependable and specialized contractors necessitate careful project control.
  • Disrespect for HSEQ in all facets of operations, such as contracted work that is not closely overseen.
  • Contractors disregarding standard drawings and technical paperwork.

Cost and time management both before and during the project’s execution.

  • Decrease the frequency of project-related activities and devise plans to enhance the general dependability and security of field personnel, equipment, and operations.
