What is the chance?

The Regional Finance Officer, working with a Regional Manager, is responsible for supervising the finance management and administrative functions in Kasulu while adhering to established protocols and guidelines. The location of this job will be in Kasulu. The capacity to manage a team and plan, organize, and supervise assigned office-related tasks are requirements for this role.

In order to succeed, a regional finance officer must handle the following duties:

  • Guide, coach, and counsel the administrative and financial staff, fostering a culture of cooperation, responsibility, and lifelong learning within a biblical context.
  • Verify that policies and measures are in place to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial data.
  • Keep an eye on receipts and expenditures and make sure reports are submitted on schedule to oversee financing in the area.
  • To ensure that financial reports are sent to development partners and management on time, make sure the books of accounts are updated and posted in the accounting system.
  • Set a good example, educate staff members on internal controls, and provide support in understanding, interpreting, and applying established policies and procedures.
  • In order to ensure compliance with applicable rules, Water Mission policies and procedures, accepted financial practice and standards, and other relevant requirements, keep an eye on the activities and budget performance of the various projects and programs. If necessary, coordinate corrective action.
  • Oversee administrative tasks, such as fleet management and other logistics, as delegated by the supervisor.
  • Check that projected commitments or spending for people, facilities supply, and equipment costs, together with those related to services, are compliant with Water Mission policies and procedures, pertinent appropriations, and budget codes.
  • Address both internal and external audit observations and supply the data required to address audit conclusions.
  • Maintain and update the organization’s inventory in the Inventory Management System as well as the regional asset register.
  • Follow Water Mission rules and procedures to ensure timely accountability of all staff advances, petty cash management, and routine cash counts.
  • Determine and share any risks and weaknesses inside the company, then create plans for mitigating those weaknesses to reduce interruptions.
  • Make sure the financial and other pertinent forms are completed correctly.
  • Additional tasks that the supervisor designates.

What is necessary?

  • Alignment with the tenets of love, excellence, and integrity included in the Water Mission Statement of Faith.
  • Fluent in Swahili and English.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or a similar discipline.
  • An additional advance is ACCA / CPA (T), registered with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
  • Proficiency in leadership, mentoring, management, analytical, and organizational abilities, as evidenced by the capacity to operate both individually and collaboratively, set priorities, and oversee a range of tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, including the capacity to cooperate, communicate, and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  • More than five years of non-profit financial management expertise.
  • Grasp of the requirements for proper documentation and the steps required to guarantee audit compliance.
  • Abilities with software and tools, including ERP systems, and the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
  • Intimate and developing bond with Jesus Christ.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and dispute resolution abilities.
  • The capacity to operate both individually and in a team.
  • There is no room for corruption of any kind, including bribery, fraud, conflicts of interest, and other corrupt practices.
