Part of a well-known development group, BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania began activities in Tanzania in 2006, concentrating on the themes of agriculture, livelihood, food security, and the empowerment of women and youth.

Position: Regional Monitoring and Learning Officer

 

Goal (Purpose):

In order to strengthen the agency and voice of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) to act on their aspirations, to enable AGYW to engage in sustainable livelihoods, and to create an environment that is supportive of AGYW, including support for AGYW to engage in advocacy, the Accelerating Impact for Young Women (AIM) program in the Dodoma Region needs monitoring activities and learning enhancements.

By identifying and supporting the implementation of efficient, cost-effective, and relevant monitoring and learning systems, the Monitoring and Learning Officer will build capacity in the country mission and offer technical help to in-country staff about M&E. In order to gather information, evaluate findings, and report on the program’s accomplishments, the officer will collaborate closely with partners and program staff.

MAIN DUTY OBLIGATIONS:

Each necessary task must be able to be completed satisfactorily by the employee in order for the job to be performed effectively.

  • Help the program team with participant database management, project MIS report verification, and M&E plan execution.
  • Make sure that the Accelerating Impact for Young Women in Africa-AIM project’s data collecting tools and reporting formats are developed and tested, then shared with the appropriate project team and the Monitoring and Learning team.
  • Utilize projects to gather, analyze, and report data on program quality monitoring in accordance with BI criteria.
  • Verify and validate the data at random to implement quality control measures.
  • Take part in the creation of the performance indicators, assist the group in monitoring their progress, and record their lessons learned.
  • Take the lead in project monitoring (process and outcome monitoring), record results, and disseminate suggestions for learning and ongoing project improvement.

Development of capacity for the project team.

  • Organize, assist, and lead meetings, workshops, and training sessions on monitoring and learning for the benefit of the organization, the community, and the implementing partners.
  • Assist the team in locating and preserving the supporting records for the completed project’s trainings and distributions broken down by location, gender, and degree of impairment.

Reporting and documentation.

  • Assembles and analyzes data for reports on particular monitoring and learning touch points, then distributes it to the appropriate parties.
  • Holding or participating in review and reflection workshops at the regional level, documenting findings, and sharing them as necessary with the project and monitoring teams.

Taking Charge of Safety Obligations.

  • To meet the program’s objectives for the implementation of safeguarding, make sure that team members are secure from all harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation.
  • Team members should practice, support, and endorse the safeguarding policy’s concerns and make sure that the standards are followed in all actions.
  • In the event that an occurrence qualifies for reporting, follow the safeguarding reporting process and urge others to follow suit.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND CAPACITY:

  • Interpersonal abilities and the capacity for both autonomous and group work.
  • Good organizational abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
  • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Both oral and written communication abilities.

SKILL SET REQUIREMENTS:

  • A university degree, preferably in mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, information technology, or a related subject.

SKILLS:

  • Two years or more of experience working for national or international organizations in the monitoring capacity.
  • Familiarity with utilizing mobile or tablet computers as well as data collection tools like KOBO collect.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis using programs like GIS, SPSS, ENVIVO, and STATA.
  • Expertise in creating instruments and procedures for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data.

Type of Employment: Contractual.
