Job Title: Sales and Reservation Officer

The Job Summary:
The Sales and Reservation Officer’s responsibilities include promoting and selling the company’s travel and vacation packages, maintaining client reservations, and delivering great customer service. The role include managing customer contacts, guaranteeing smooth booking processes, and meeting sales targets to contribute to the company’s success.
The key responsibilities:
The sales and marketing:
- To promote and sell travel packages, tours, and other related services to individual and group customers.
- Meet or exceed your monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers to drive repeat business and referrals.
- To identify new company prospects and actively take part in marketing activities.
The Reservation Management:
- To handle client inquiries and provide specialized trip solutions, such as itineraries and airline tickets.
- To manage and confirm reservations for lodging, transportation, and other travel services.
- Make sure that all reservations are processed correctly and confirmed in a timely way.
- To coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure a smooth service delivery.
The customer service:
- Respond to consumer inquiries, complaints, and special requests immediately and professionally.
- To provide clients with travel guidance, such as itinerary planning, visa requirements, and insurance.
- Make follow up with clients after the trip to get feedback and establish loyalty.
The administrative tasks:
- Keep up to date records of bookings, payments, and sales activity.
- Create/ prepare sales and reservation reports as needed.
- Maintain compliance with business rules and industry requirements.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the marketing, operations, and finance teams to guarantee seamless service delivery.
- To participate in team meetings and provide ideas for improving services and meeting sales targets.
The Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
- Stay current on industry developments, rival products, and upcoming locations.
- Make recommendations for new travel products or service advancements.
The Qualifications & Skills:
The Educational Background:
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in tourism, hospitality management, business administration, marketing, or a similar discipline.
The experience:
- Knowledge/ experience in sales, reservations, or customer service, preferably in the travel and tourist sector.
- Experience with booking systems, travel platforms, and reservation tools is required.
The technical Skills:
- A proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understanding/ knowledge of global distribution systems (GDS) such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre is a significant benefit.
The Sales and Customer Service Skills:
- A proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets.
- A strong negotiating, persuasion, and interpersonal abilities.
- The ability to give exceptional customer service and resolve problems properly.
The Industry Knowledge:
- A thorough understanding of travel and tourist items, including destinations, lodging, and transportation.
- Understanding of visa procedures, travel laws, and itinerary planning.
The personal attributes:
- The highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking successfully.
- A team player with excellent collaborative skills.
- Be flexible in working under duress and meeting deadlines.
Language Skills:
- An excellent oral and written communication abilities in English.
- A proficiency in extra languages is advantageous.
