Job Title: Senior Insurance Officer II – Re-Insurance – 1 Post

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To create and enhance the reinsurance management system, protocols, and associated management policies; to create an annual reinsurance plan;
  • To create a system for managing, reporting, and analyzing important risks related to reinsurance;
  • To create and carry out facultative management and reinsurance treaties, including organizing negotiations for renewal terms and establishing an annual work schedule;
  • To create and oversee assessments, facultative business and counter-party risk management, asset and credit analysis of inner and external treaties;
  • To create reinsurance file management and analyze reinsurance management on a regular and irregular basis;
  • To evaluate reinsurance performance in relation to the internal and external environments and the Corporation’s strategy;
  • To oversee the best possible reinsurance program for both new and current life and general business products;
  • To create, put into practice, and oversee an innovative framework that maximizes the placement of facultative reinsurance;
  • To oversee the reinsurance procedures’ administration of premiums, policies, and claims;
  • To maximize the protection and arrangement structure of reinsurance; and
  • To carry out any additional pertinent tasks that the supervisor may prescribe.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in either actuarial science, insurance and risk management, or a related discipline. At least seven (7) years of relevant work experience in a related field with a strong track record of handling general insurance issues pertaining to miscellaneous and personal accident insurance, fire, engineering, oil and gas, motor, aviation, marine, engineering, agriculture, COMESA, and the Regional Customs Transit Guarantee (RCTG). It is essential to have strong abilities in asset appraisal, credit analysis of inbound and outbound treaties, facultative business, and counter-party risk management analysis, evaluation, and assessment.
