The work schedule: 42 days on/ 21 days off

The Role Overview:
This function ensures that plant operations run smoothly while maintaining optimal metallurgical performance. The incumbent will be in charge of process monitoring, optimization, metallurgical accounting, reagent management, and continuous improvement activities.
The key responsibilities:
A. Safety and Compliance.
- To ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- To conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance.
B. Process Optimization and Performance Monitoring:
- Crushing and milling: Check crusher settings and monitor grinding circuit efficiency.
- Leaching and Adsorption: Optimize Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) parameters for optimal gold recovery.
- Elution and electrowinning: Control and optimize elution efficiency to improve gold extraction.
- Gravity Recovery: Improve the performance of the Knelson concentrator and Acacia reactor to maximize gravity gold recovery.
- Tailing Storage Facilities (TSF): Provide technical advise to guarantee proper tailings disposal and compliance with environmental regulations.
C. Metallurgical Accounting and Reporting
- Keep precise metallurgical records and reconciliations.
- To prepare and analyze process reports.
D. Reagent and Water Management.
- To optimize reagent use and assure cyanide compliance.
- Effectively manage the plant’s water balance.
E. Continuous Improvement and Test Work
- To identify inefficiencies in processes and create test work programs for optimization.
- To conduct metallurgical tests to increase recovery rates and operational efficiency.
- To implement novel approaches to decreasing operational costs while maintaining high metallurgical efficiency.
F. Cost Control and Budgeting.
- Create cost-effective ways for reducing reagent and operating expenses.
- To ensure that plant metallurgical operations stay below the agreed budget constraints.
- To track and analyze manufacturing expenses, and make cost-cutting recommendations.
G. Leadership and Training.
- Mentoring and training junior metallurgists and plant operators.
- Develop a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
What We are Looking For:
- A BSc in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, or Chemical Engineering.
- A registered with the Tanzania Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
- The 5+ years of experience in a gold processing facility.
- A strong experience in CIL, gravity concentration, elution, and cyanide management.
- The leadership and process optimisation experience.
