The inSupply Health is located in Nairobi and has an office in Dar es Salaam. It is linked with the JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. Our dynamic local consultants collaborate with public and commercial sector clients to build supply chain systems that provide critical health items such as antimalarial and HIV drugs, vaccinations, and contraceptives in complicated situations. We pioneer creative ways by adapting proven commercial sector methodologies to the setting, but we also collaborate with our clients to design solutions that they can own, implement, and continuously improve independently in the long run.

 

 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Assistant to join our exciting team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Senior Procurement Assistant is responsible for assisting the Senior Officer, Administration, Logistics, and Procurement in managing and carrying out procurement tasks. This work include assisting with sourcing, purchasing goods and services, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring that procurement operations are efficient, cost-effective, and in accordance with business policies and regulations.

 

 

The Ideal Candidates:

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who values efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and ethical sourcing. They will have a strong procurement history, including experience creating tools and processes to improve performance, manage vendor relationships, and assure compliance. They will work at the heart of our operations, sourcing goods and services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that corporate policies and laws are followed.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Execution: Help implement procurement strategies to satisfy corporate goals.
  • Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain good connections with suppliers to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contract execution in accordance with company standards and legal obligations.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all procurement actions follow applicable laws, regulations, and corporate rules.
  • Cost Management: Identify and promote cost-cutting strategies to boost efficiency.
  • Procurement Documentation: Keep correct records of vendor files, purchase orders, and contracts.
  • Logistics Coordination: Plan personnel movements, book flights, and arrange transportation.
  • Market Research: Analyze the market to inform buying decisions.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and help implement mitigation methods.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teams to understand and meet their procurement requirements.
  • Sustainability and Ethics: Encourage sustainable and ethical procurement methods.
  • Administrative Support: Perform additional administrative activities as needed.
  • Perform any other assigned task.

 

 

The Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance, or a similar discipline.
  • Certification: Professional procurement certification (for example, CIPS, which is registered with the PSPTB) or certification in progress.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in procurement, preferably in non-governmental organizations or consulting.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics or any ERP powered by MS Dynamics is an advantage.

  • Proficient with procurement software and systems.
  • The excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously.
  • The ethical, transparent, and dedicated to constant learning.
