What is the chance?
The Senior Supply Chain Officer supervises supply chain management operations nationwide under the direction of the Finance Manager, adhering to defined protocols and guidelines. The location of this job will be in Dodoma. The capacity to manage a team and plan, organize, and supervise assigned office-related tasks are requirements for this role.

A Senior Supply Chain Officer who is effective will:
- Encourage, support, and set an example for the technical team and all other staff members regarding Water Mission’s vision, mission, and values.
- Team Leadership: Establish a culture of cooperation, responsibility, and ongoing education within the supply chain team by offering leadership, direction, and mentoring within a biblical framework.
- Strategic Planning: Create and carry out initiatives that are in line with existing policies and procedures in order to optimize the supply chain process.
- Procurement administration: To guarantee the timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery of products and services, implement defined procurement rules and processes and supervise procurement operations, such as vendor selection, pre-qualification, negotiation, ordering, and contract administration.
- Inventory Management: To optimize inventory levels, reduce stockouts, and guarantee appropriate management of inventory movement—which encompasses all activities related to transferring inventory, such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping, and replenishing—develop or implement established inventory control strategies.
- Distribution and Logistics: Oversee the transportation, warehousing, and vehicle operations to guarantee the prompt and effective delivery of goods or services to their designated locations while reducing lead times and transportation expenses.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and preserve solid bonds with suppliers and service providers to guarantee a steady and dependable supply, make sure they follow PSEA guidelines, address problems as soon as they arise, and promote ongoing development.
- Training and compliance: Standardize the best practice supply chain process throughout all WM country offices, guarantee compliance with internal and external requirements, and conduct regular training sessions for the supply chain team and other personnel regarding established policies and procedures.
- Risk management is the process of identifying, communicating, and developing mitigation methods to reduce any risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain.
What is necessary?
- Alignment with the tenets of love, excellence, and integrity included in the Water Mission Statement of Faith.
- Fluent in Swahili and English.
- Five years of solid expertise managing the supply chain, with an emphasis on inventory control, logistics, and procurement.
- Familiarity with industry standards, laws, and best practices for logistics and supply chain management.
- Intimate and developing bond with Jesus Christ.
- The capacity to operate both individually and in a team.
- There is no room for corruption of any kind, including bribery, fraud, conflicts of interest, and other corrupt practices.
- Outstanding interpersonal and dispute resolution abilities.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint, as well as tools and software for supply chain management, including inventory management and ERP systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, including the capacity to cooperate, communicate, and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, procurement, and supply chain management, or a similar discipline. A professional certification or master’s degree is advantageous.
- Flawless integrity in managing the supply chain.
- A valid work permit in Tanzania.
