The job responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities:
- To conduct environmental studies on road upkeep and development.
- To update the environmental management processes for the road sector.
- To conduct environmental impact evaluations on road developments.
- The environmental specialist must be familiar with African Development Bank Environmental and Social Standards, as well as Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Guidelines, in order to implement Environmental and Social Management in Projects.
- The development Relevant knowledge and experience in Tanzanian environmental impact assessment techniques, regulations, and legislation.
- Carry out/ perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
The Requirements:
- The 10 years of related experience following the completion of the degree. Out of which, 5 years have been spent implementing Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) projects related to Damy construction protection.
- The coastal drainage systems, sewage treatment plants, road and power projects, and so forth.
- The Specialist Environmentalists should be fluent in Swahili and English, with technical reporting skills.
- A degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Marine Biology, Biodiversity, or Forest Engineering, with a Master’s degree in Engineering.
The Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: At least a bachelor’s degree is required, with no upper limit.
- Experience: Not less than ten years.
