The Nature and Scope:

A crucial aspect of the logistics process is managed by the position holder, who oversees people, systems, and procedures to guarantee that items are properly planned for, received, handled, packaged, and sent, as well as that productivity goals are reached in all in-country warehouses. He or she will also be in charge of the building’s and the stock’s security, as well as workplace health and safety regulations.

Obligations and Liabilities:

  • Keep an eye on inventory levels to make sure warehouses are never overstocked and that sales demand is always satisfied. This include ordering the production/procurement team and developing, reviewing, and updating the current forecast model on a regular basis.
  • Take the initiative to reduce shrinkages in the warehouse and during transportation by identifying the causes and implementing long-lasting corrective measures.
  • Review the receiving, put away, and order fulfillment procedures’ execution on a regular basis to find areas for improvement, provide suggestions for fixes, and oversee their implementation.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a group of warehouse and distribution coordinators to make sure they are capable, driven, and well-organized. This covers, among other things, performing in-person check-ins, performance reviews, coaching sessions, resolving conflicts, and working together to solve problems.
  • Maintaining SANKU’s purpose by working cooperatively with cross-functional teams in areas of intersection, primarily the manufacturing, finance, and sales teams.
  • Determine which tools and equipment are necessary for effective warehouse operations, then make sure they are always accessible, well-maintained, and safely stored to guarantee peak performance and minimize downtime.
  • Take the initiative to monitor and enhance warehouse performance by actively participating in the development of performance metrics for the measurement, comparison, or evaluation of variables influencing the operations of the warehouse.
  • Participate in the process of documenting procedures and policies to guarantee business continuity.
  • To improve SANKUs warehouses, continuously educate yourself on best practices for warehouses both locally and worldwide. You should also look for local market information that could have an impact on SANKUs warehouse operations.
  • To reach sustainability goals, keep an eye on how warehouse activities affect the environment.
  • This involves, but is not limited to, making sure waste management is carried out in accordance with standards and that all warehouses are kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
  • Assuming complete responsibility for all aspects of the distribution and warehousing operations, handling issues as they come up, and promptly reporting any concerns to management.
  • In order to minimize the chance of eviction and guarantee that all warehouse rents are paid on time, coordinate with the procurement function.
  • Reporting on overall warehouse operations on a regular basis as required.
  • Perform any additional responsibilities as delegated from time to time by the line manager.

  • IT proficiency, proficiency with Excel, and familiarity with handling electronic data.
  • Strong grasp of risk management within the supply chain framework.
  • Quick learner having the capacity to focus, manage several activities at once, and adjust to a range of difficulties.
  • A strong sense of organization and the capacity to inspire and guide a group.
  • Capacity to carry out intricate processes in a time-sensitive setting.
  • Good communication skills, both in writing and speaking.
  • Excellent time management and feeling of urgency; able to operate both individually and in a team.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities in Swahili and English.

Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, or a similar discipline.
  • CPIM stands for Certified Production Inventory Management.
  • Eight years or more of work experience, three of which need to be in a managerial capacity at a respectable company or a non-profit organization.
  • Three or more years of expertise in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chains.
