Job Title: Warehouse and Logistics Project Lead

The Job Purpose:
The chosen candidate will serve as the Logistics Partner to the Operational Readiness team, ensuring that the whole scope of work for the Finished Goods Warehouse is completed in accordance with the agreed-upon legal framework and in-country SHERQ standards.
The specific duties and responsibilities:
- As the custodian (expert) of ABFS and KSC FG Warehouse Standards and Best Practices, provide recommendations in response to technical concerns from the Operational Readiness Team.
- Assessing the interface requirements between the Finished Goods Warehouse (FGW) and incoming and leaving flows to ensure that the design and SOPs implemented are operationally realistic, lean, and efficient. Gaps should be addressed in the readiness plan, along with action items to close them.
- Make sure that WOLO principles are incorporated as part of development in accordance with the agreed-upon legal framework by reviewing the design drawings. Gaps in WOLO standard implementation should be identified initially, followed by budgeting and prioritizing improvement opportunities and planning for execution.
- The operational Readiness workstream. Responsible for completing the deliverable within the timeframe given.
- To assist the Operational Readiness team with performance tests of the Finished Goods warehouse architecture, systems, and equipment using a partnership to design and agree on tests based on FSCC22000 standards.
- Be responsible for conducting capacity gaps and risk assessments, designing SOPs, and arranging training requirements to guarantee personnel’s smooth and safe integration into the new infrastructure and ways of working.
- To agree internally at ABFS/KSC, then with the Project Team, on the specifications for both racking and forklifts that must be given by them, including minimum standards for materials, construction, after-sales service, and functioning.
- To assist in interpreting the ABFS SAP plan for particular tasks related to the WMS implementation in Tanzania, matching these critical milestones with those being tracked during the Finished Goods warehouse build, and assisting with WMS UAT training.
- To sign off on the design and oversee the implementation of all IT hardware standards mandated by the Finished Goods warehouse.
- To development and implementation of the DILO strategy for operational preparedness, including the coordination of a training plan to upskill all people before to and following GO Live.
- To coordinate the overall design, risk, and security evaluation of the new Finished Goods warehouse before designing CCTV, access control systems, and sourcing all tenant services.
The Job Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a comparable field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing projects, with a focus on new construction or warehouse constructions.
- Leadership is the ability to influence people, particularly third parties outside of established organizational structures.
- Capability to bargain under duress with unaffiliated parties.
- Ability to solve technical problems with operations, security, and equipment.
- Results-driven, performance-focused, and resilient.
- Good understanding of ABFS WOLO processes and policies.
The terms of Service:
- The successful candidate will be hired on a Fixed-Term Contract.
