Summary of Position:

We are looking for an experienced site engineer with a construction background who can join our team in the Serengeti to help with the building of a luxury lodge. The ideal candidate will have experience with remote site high-end hospitality projects and contracts.

From the first excavations to the topping out of structures, the Site Engineer will be in charge of managing all aspect of site operations, including the installation of services by designated service providers and subcontractors.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects are completed within specifications and time constraints. They will also take a proactive approach to operations, putting excellent planning, communication, and team-building abilities ahead of everything else.

Without a doubt, everyone’s safety on the job site is crucial to its success. For this reason, the chosen applicant will be knowledgeable about every facet of construction safety and make sure that teams adhere to rules.

Principal Duty of a Site Engineer:

i. Overseeing and managing every aspect of the job site, including the teams that carry out the actual work.
ii. Verify that all supplies and labor are done in compliance with the specifications.
iii. Manage the use of materials efficiently, reduce loss and waste, and make sure there are enough materials on hand before any scheduled operations begin.
iv. Arrange tasks ahead of time, taking into account every need for a proper completion in order to fulfill deadlines.
v. Gather and disseminate method statements of proposed works for approval; when carrying out works, adhere to authorized method statements.
vi. Encourage a happy and effective work atmosphere at the location.

vii. Proactively fulfill all obligations, taking into account any possible issues or dangers and putting preventative measures in place.
viii. Work together with the site manager to create and carry out thorough plans for the short- and medium-term tasks that need to be completed.
ix. Help the Site Manager prepare daily modifications to the authorized Program of Works and ensure that work is completed in accordance with it.
x. Help the Site Manager ask questions of the Design Team in the appropriate manner.
xi. Establish and uphold a solid culture of responsibility, excellence, and ongoing development.

Qualifications for the position:

i. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as civil engineering.
ii. At least two years of construction experience, with an emphasis on meeting deadlines and providing outstanding quality.
iv. Demonstrated experience managing and leading teams to attain operational excellence.
iv. Comprehensive knowledge of technology and how it applies to building.
v. Capacity to precisely lay out structures in an area with open spaces.
vi. Outstanding interpersonal, communication, planning, and leadership abilities.
vii. The capacity to “make a plan” when necessary.
viii. Microsoft Project and Office Suite experience is required.
ix. Needs to have prior Auto Cad experience.
x. The ability to interpret construction drawings is required.

xi. Will approach responsibilities with enthusiasm and self-motivation.
xii. Will possess previous experience managing a team with significant cultural diversity.
xiii. Always show respect to every member of the team.
